I figured this was going to happen, let’s see the return. I predicted Helenius + draft pick compensation this morning but that might be too rich

It’s believed Parayko to Buffalo is going to happen. Things are being finalized. Player needs to approve, etc.

Thank god Sullivan said he was going to give the kids a bigger role… this franchise is truly dumb

Looks like Brennan Othmann and Scott Morrow will be the healthy scratches tonight. Anton Blidh and Vincent Iorio came off with the regulars, with the latter trending toward his #NYR debut.

@StevenPappasTV @NYRangersRadio Dude he’s 30 games into his career 😭

As far as pure production, there are plenty of players that maintain a solid production through their late 30s(65 points per 82 or better)
Pavelski age 35-39: 276 points in 302 games
Malkin age 35-39: 240 points in 268 games
Marchand age 35-37: 101 points in 115 game(still going)
Claude Giroux age 35-38: 230 points in 298 games
Anze Kopitar age 35-38: 232 points in 282 games
Mats Zuccarello age 35-38: 147 points in 172 games
Patrick Kane age 35-37: 137 points in 161 games
Any team is realistically going to get 3-5 seasons of at least 65-85 points per 82 games at minimum if they extended Panarin. Probably better.

With Giants hiring John Harbaugh and drafting Jaxson Dart
The Rangers are officially in the worst place of any team I root for

@iEricKohn They got outplayed severely in every game. Yes he would’ve helped, but idk if that would’ve changed the fact that the PP and Igor were the reason they were winning.
English

The Rangers, as they were constructed, took the Panthers to six games. Would Guentzel have swung the series the other way? Maybe not. But he would have made a difference. And that was the gamble they should have taken.
Thomas@Thomas53071562
@iEricKohn The Rangers weren’t a Guentzel away in 2024

Realistically, return packages on these players would look like
Panarin -> Unconditional 1st, solid young NHL player, good prospect
Trocheck -> Unconditional 1st, good prospect, mid prospect
Schneider -> Conditional 1st or unconditional 2nd, mid prospect
Soucy -> Conditional 2nd or unconditional 3rd and low end prospect
Carrick -> unconditional 3rd or unconditional 4th and mid prospect
Raddysh -> Unconditional 4th or unconditional 6th and low end prospect
Brodzinski -> anything would be cool
Vaakanainen -> anything would be cool
Othmann -> anything would be cool
Parssinen -> anything would be cool
Just from this point until March 6th, work the phones Chris Drury

@danielm6603 I’d have to think a watered down version of K’Andre Miller return
A good defensive prospect and a pick - depending on how good the prospect is will determine how good the pick is

I just want to say, I’m mock trades and moves for Rangers all day… and I know a bunch of it, if any of it won’t happen
I honestly don’t know what Chris Drury is going to do - they’re too good to get a Top 5 pick but not good enough win a playoff series
Like they’re 3-4 pieces away like I’ve said from taking a step into that next tier but they just don’t have cap space to get it done
And they can’t sell off most of the vets - who have long expensive contract with NMCs going into their late 30s
This feels a lot like those Detroit Red Wings teams who were expensive and couldn’t win a playoff series from 2014 to they began to sell and legit tank in 2020
It was 6 years of first round exits and fringe playoff misses before they got out of that mess and completely tanked - not a good trajectory
They still haven’t made the playoffs out of that and were 12 years removed from their last playoff series win

In the 2022 NHL Draft, From Rounds 3-7, Only 2 players have 6+ points in the NHL
Noah Laba and Victor Mancini
Possibly Drurys best draft class yet

I’m just gonna say it because it’s starting to drive me crazy, but the notion that the Rangers shouldn’t resign Panarin is absolute LUNACY.
He’s far and away the best player on the team and the best free agent signing in franchise history. He has a very minuscule injury history and his play style will allow him to play for a long time.
Igor isn’t getting any younger and here’s a news flash: big ticket free agents rarely hit the market. (past offseason was a prime example)
So who exactly do you see as a rational replacement that can help the team win in this window?
English

@CorePython Personally don’t think 2024 would’ve gone different if they had guentzel. Still is a what if though.
English

Can’t wait to trade him for peanuts when they could’ve got Guentzel or a top 4 d-man for him at the 2024 deadline
Mollie Walker@MollieeWalkerr
Elliotte Friedman reporting #NYR Brennan Othmann is drawing interest
English

Meanwhile the Rangers had to give Barclay Goodrow $1.3 mil more with a flat cap
Must be nice to be an attractive destination for players that they’ll take a discount
