@UrinatingTree @Troystechermuse Andrae was good in limited minutes, if you look at any of the underlying analytics, he was a quality guy. I imagine he's a huge upgrade on the backend compared to Benoit and what was on the Leafs last year. Huge departure from Brad's ideal defensive structure, thank god.

@MikeBartner I actually disagree with the general consensus that PHI wins this trade.
Both goalies suck, TOR just gets the cheaper one. They also get the 3rd round pick. They don’t need Woll, they have 3 other goalies.
Benoit is a 3rd pair dman, Andrae has a real shot at being 2nd pair.

First trade by #Leafs GM John Chayka is a dud. TOR trades Joseph Woll instead of injury-prone Anthony Stolarz, along w/Simon Benoit. Emil Andrae is a decent undersized puck mover, but G Samuel Ersson is a downgrade, & a 3rd rounder is not enough to make up the difference.

@JDBunkis The D is a small puck mover with strong underlying stats, RFA with arb rights. Not sure about the goalie, also RFA with arb rights. Clears about 5m in cap without those two signed, plus the third. Still have two many waiver eligible goalies and need to sort that out.
