@NADaze2 @CrownAndJoke I can. The tax will be paid by people visiting OKC, not those of us living here, and will increase a stream of revenue we use to attract tourists, conferences & other visitors. Most other similar sized cities have a bigger hotel/motel tax than we do, putting us a disadvantage.

Can anyone tell me why voting Yes for this hotel tax increase would be good? Seems terrible

I’m given to understand that the Oklahoma Democrat Party has decided to replace their rooster ballot symbol with a donkey. I’m not a Democrat but as someone with a keen interest in state elections it’s disappointing to see the ‘stamp the rooster’ tradition be abandoned.

I’m pretty disappointed to learn *through an unrelated article* that an election on funding a new arena is “likely to be held later this year” rather than from the City Manager or in discussion with other members of Council.
