The only shortage we have for drivers is skilled drivers. The biggest threat the skilled drivers is health. Life expectancy of truck drivers is 61 years old. Driving is high pressure, often sedentary, and here's the data on what that lifestyle costs drivers... 69% obese, 17% morbidly obese, 14% diabetes, 26% hypertension, 22% high cholesterol, 52.4% metabolic syndrome, 38% uninsured or without a health care plan, 28% sleep apnea, 27% loneliness, 27% depression. The Project 61 program got started for a reason.
