@HuntFishTravel Put a solid door with an electric lock, put bars inside to secure the window. You can put plywood on the walls for extra security. The main goal is to keep them from being accessible to anyone.

What do you think would be the pros or cons? Is this something you've ever thought about or dreamed about? Thinking about turning a spare bedroom into a gun vault type of a room. I was looking at posts, ideas, and forums. I found a lot of naysayers, talking about how just putting a couple gun safes in the room would be better, because they're fireproof, because you'd have to reinforce the walls, you'd have to buy a 6,000 lb door for security, and it would have to be locked all the time, etc etc. That argument just didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. My guns aren't in a fireproof safe now, they're literally in the basement. Or in an oak gun cabinet. Growing up, my dad was a gunsmith, he had two kids in the house and we knew not to go down and mess with the guns. Oh, and did I mention that I don't have children so that's not even an issue in my home. By the time I would purchase three or four large gun safes, I could remodel a small 10x11 spare bedroom into one serious, reinforced gun vault. I'd probably keep the bulk of my ammo in the basement with all the reloading equipment. And I don't really work on my guns too much, the workbench is also in the basement which is used for much more than just working on my rifles. It was just an interesting rabbit hole to go down.

@gdi_ag May I inquire as to the purpose of this venture? I’m just down the road and own several chainsaws.

If this farming thing doesn’t work out, maybe I have a future as a tree trimmer
