With a highly diverse topography, a large country like India needs a dedicated ministry for #DisasterManagement. DM is critical even during war, especially when 2 neighbors are nuclear armed. @PMOIndia

Nobody is denying that desert storms and extreme heat existed even during earlier governments. India has always experienced harsh summers in many regions. But the real issue is not whether heatwaves existed before — it is whether their frequency, intensity, and impact are increasing now. Multiple scientific studies show that heatwaves in India have intensified over the past two decades due to a combination of climate change, deforestation, land-use change, and human activity. So saying “this is routine” oversimplifies a much larger environmental problem. A natural event becoming more frequent and more severe is exactly what scientists are warning about.

@RakeshK32229480 Municipal budgets and money mostly. It's also a question of administrative capacity. Municipal governments in India are like patients of starvation; they would need time to recover. Moreover its upto state government to decide whether to allow them to do that or not.

Why didn't other Indian cities follow Indore's cleanliness model? What was the problem—lack of political will, poor execution ,insufficient budget, or uninterested babus?.
