It was a pleasure to meet H.E. Alem Tsehaye Woldemariam, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the longest-serving Ambassador of Eritrea to India, during a courtesy call. We held comprehensive and engaging discussions on a range of matters of mutual interest, and I deeply valued His Excellency’s perspectives and extensive experience from his distinguished tenure in India. Our exchange also explored avenues for strengthening diplomatic and developmental cooperation between the Caribbean and Africa, with a shared commitment to advancing sustainable growth and prosperity for our people. In addition, we shared views on the evolving situation in the Middle East, while also reflecting on broader regional and global developments of common concern.

For me, this award is not just about my own journey, it’s about our journey as a nation. It shows that the voice of St. Kitts and Nevis is being heard, and that our small islands have a big role to play in shaping the future of the global African family. This moment reminds us of the importance of reconnecting the Caribbean and Africa, not only through history, but through partnerships, and a shared vision for progress. I accepted this award with gratitude, on behalf of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis, whose resilience and spirit inspire me every day. #GlobalAfrica

Following UNGA80, I headed over to Toronto, Canada, to meet with some of our proud sons and daughters of St. Kitts and Nevis who now call Canada home. 🇰🇳❤️🇨🇦 Together with Senior Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas and our Diaspora Ambassador, Dr. Christine Walwyn, we spoke openly about the strides we are making back home and listened carefully to the concerns and ideas shared, whether about flights, infrastructure, or simply how each person can give back to the land that raised them. I am always inspired by the passion of our people abroad. Your love for home is real, and your willingness to play a role in our nation’s future strengthens my belief that together, no challenge is too great.
