🚨 VIKINGS DRAFT CONTEST ALERT 🚨
I'm giving away an EPIC football signed by Vikings legends @PaulKrauseHOF and @ChuckForeman
Want to win? Correctly predict the Vikings' first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft (pick # and player), like and RT this post
*must be following me*

English

@TheHerd @VikingsDaily @colincowherd We are not as good as people think. Hockenson and Darrisaw arent the players they were before knee surgery. O’Neil and Aaron Jones are old and constantly hurt. No center, one good player on the d line and probably losing the best player in the secondary.
English

"It's official. Every year I pick a team that I think is already pretty good but is going to be much better than everybody thinks. I'm gonna do that with Minnesota."
@colincowherd argues Kyler Murray immediately raises the floor for the Vikings
English

The signing of Kyler Murray officially ended the J.J. McCarthy era of Vikings football.
My latest for @AtoZSportsNFL atozsports.com/nfl/minnesota-…
English

@keatwins7 @SimplyOde Or he just beats him out and Kyler never plays. Best case scenario
English

@arielhelwani I will never understand why people care about stuff like this. We know neither of these women are anywhere near their prime and wouldnt beat anyone in the top 10 so why is it a big deal?
English

@SeifertESPN @DanBarreiroKFAN Murray got cut for a reason, leave the ego behind and compete
English

Talked about this w/ @DanBarreiroKFAN today. It's the biggest obstacle to the move. You're signing a 28yo QB with 20k passing yards, 3k rushing yards, 150+ TDs. You would have to really downplay Kyler Murray's career to call him competition for J.J. McCarthy. No shade, just fact.

Do the Vikings make sense for Kyler Murray? 🤔 The crew weighs in on the QB room in Minnesota 👀
English

@SamMonsonNFL So true. This was expected but still a huge bummer for Vikings fans.. people shitting on McCarthy dont get how bad the team around him played last year
English

Nailor was the 1 WR for the Vikings last year who actually really helped out his QB.
Ian Hartitz@Ihartitz
Raiders WR Jalen Nailor
English

@brevmanbane @JasonHarmonNFL Why was he available and why wasn’t he worth more? The numbers look great
English

Another #Vikings target on my radar: Steelers CB James Pierre
Became starting corner across from JPJ in Pittsburgh in Week 10 and from there:
🏈 46.4% completion allowed when targeted (9th best among corners facing 20 targets)
🏈 -5.7 receptions over expected (2nd best)
🏈 Made play on the ball 25% of targets (7th best)
Additionally, overall in 2025, he had (among qualifying corners):
🏈 88.9 PFF coverage grade (1st)
🏈 29% forced incompletion percentage (1st)
🏈 9 PBUs (T-7th, but much lower snap count than everyone in front of him)
🏈 57.2 passing rating allowed (5th)
🏈 0 penalties (T-1st)
🏈 45.7% overall completion allowed (3rd)
If he starts earlier, his numbers rival NE’s Christian Gonzales. He also played under Brian Flores in Pittsburgh in 2022.
Pounding the table for this CB depth, which Minnesota desperately needs.
#SKOL
English

@VikesCentral He will benefit from a year being a backup like Darnold did in SF
English

@TPPSkol They will be a Super Bowl contender if JJ keeps improving and they get competent o line play and the defense plays the way they did at the end of the year. Kyler will be a high end backup like Darnold was in SF and be ready to start again next year..
English

@42Cyc Kind of impressive to have winning records 3 of 4 last seasons with that bad of drafting
English

@realmnsportsfan JJ beats Kyler in a camp competition. Brissett beat him out last year and JJ is getting better
English

National media starting to ask the obvious question when it comes to all this Kyler Murray + Vikings steam... and the silence surrounding Aaron Rodgers.
If O'Connell really believes in his young QB still, signing Aaron Rodgers would be their obvious choice. Bringing in Kyler Murray is a "a TOTALLY different message" -- @LRiddickESPN
"[Signing Rodgers] sends the message, 'Hey look man, you need to learn how to be a pro. You need to learn from one of the very best. We haven't thrown in the towel on you but you need to sit back and listen. The timetable has shifted', because Aaron is truly year-to-year.
Kyler Murray ain't year to year! Kyler Murray is looking for a place he can play maybe 5, 6, 8, maybe 10 more years. That's a TOTALLY different message." -- @GetUpESPN
English

@DavidAnder61836 @MatthewColler No one knows, but we do know McCarthy loves Madden. Big football guy
English

@dharth57 @MatthewColler So he does or does not like Call of Duty, very confusing on both your ends?
English

1000% this from Kyle.
The Call of Duty jokes are basically Sam Darnold “seeing ghosts.” It’s lazy. It doesnt consider growth or his good relationship with Petzing/Gannon or the season he put together in 2024 after battling back from the ACL injury in 2022-2023
Kyle Brandt@KyleBrandt
Kyler Murray. His reputation. His critics. His future.
English

@MatthewColler He’s going from one organization that didnt support him and trashed him publicly to another one that is doing the same to McCarthy right now.. leadership sucks on both there teams
English

@DavidAnder61836 @MatthewColler You remember how bad Darnold sucked when the Vikings didnt protect him and let him get sacked 9 times in a playoff game, then they gave McCarthy even worse pass protection and all his star receivers dropped a ton of his passes but we blame him… i so agree Bagent would be awesome
English

@dharth57 @MatthewColler I also agree, Murray. Orrr Tyson Bagent. I know what you’re thinking….. the bears will never trade him. I also thought the Vikings wouldn’t trade the guy that threw for 4,300yards and 35 tds but here we are…sad and depressed
English

You can tell me Kyler Murray doesn't "fit" with the Vikings because of reasons X,Y,Z but the reality is: If they want the best chance to win in 2026, he's the clear answer by the numbers... (which also may suggest his fit is better than you think)
purpleinsider.football/p/why-kyler-mu…
English

@nacholeber @SeifertESPN @KFAN1003 Develop our talented 22 year old qb. He showed a lot of flashes and progress even behind one of the worst pass blocking units in the league. Competition and someone with a reliable injury history should come in but JJ is the only hope for a franchise qb.
English

Dan concisely sums up what I’ve been saying on @KFAN1003
I think we have other options.
NFL on ESPN@ESPNNFL
"I like Kyler in Minnesota, I don't love Kyler in Minnesota." @danorlovsky7 on if Kyler Murray would be a good fit with the Vikings 🏈
English

@thorku If Murray comes here do you see it as a competition or would it be just handing Murray the job?
English

I’m the biggest JJ bobo there is, but I can’t agree with this take.
It was reckless to sign a street free agent QB2 a week before the season considering his health status, and the same principle applies today regardless of whether you’re a believer in his skillset or not.
Jim Souhan@SouhanStrib
Souhan: J.J. McCarthy doesn’t need competition. He needs to be the Vikings’ top priority startribune.com/minnesota-viki…

Multiple sources with knowledge of Thursday's GM meeting as well as a late January Competition Committee meeting told ESPN that the following concepts have been discussed to curb tanking:
•First-round picks can be protected only top-4 or top-14+
•Lottery odds freeze at the trade deadline or a later date
•No longer allowing a team to pick top 4 in consecutive years and/or after consecutive bottom-3 finishes
•Teams can’t pick top-4 the year after making conference finals
•Lottery odds allocated based on two-year records
•Lottery extended to include all play-in teams
•Flatten odds for all lottery teams
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania
Commissioner Adam Silver informed the league's 30 general managers on Thursday that the NBA plans to make anti-tanking rule changes for next season, sources tell ESPN. Stakeholders have intensified dialogue about combatting tanking.
