Wow, Vivek Ramaswamy comes out for defunding Veterans' health care ($120 billion).
He wants to defund the $516 billion spent annually on programs with expired authorizations, and that's by far the biggest one (expired since 1998).

We shouldn’t let the government spend money on programs that have expired. Yet that’s exactly what happens today: half a *trillion* dollars of taxpayer funds ($516 B+) goes each year to programs which Congress has allowed to expire. There are 1,200+ programs that are no longer authorized but still receive appropriations. This is totally nuts. We can & should save hundreds of billions each year by defunding government programs that Congress no longer authorizes. We’ll challenge any politician who disagrees to defend the other side.

Don't get me wrong. It's a huge indictment of the Dems that either race was even close. But concluding from this time that The Voters have decisively spoken on immigration, culture war, etc, is just goofy.

Because of RFK/Musk influence, large parts of the psychedelic industry who champion the so called “mental health revolution” will now politically realign and attempt to weasel their way into an administration who openly supports the execution of drug dealers, invading Mexico, and kicking people off healthcare, amongst every other anti-social policy in the works

@JulesEvans11 Perhaps. Although I’m not seeing the impetus to allow for US focused veteran PT in an effort to soften retaliation due to invasion. Maybe just don’t declare war and put troops in harms way in the first place.

Extremely few (almost zero) people are in prison for selling marijuana only. Almost all of them have a violence charge of some kind attached. If all inmates with just weed charges were released (distribution, possession etc) incarceration rates would be completely unchanged. Misguided and failed liberal decarceration strategy that prevents meaningful prison reform.

Selling weed literally went from major felony to essential business (open during pandemic) in much of America & yet many are still in prison. Doesn’t make sense, isn’t right.

Bernie was right about everything. Every decision Dems make over the next 4 years — selecting a new DNC Chair, prioritizing legislative battles, recruiting candidates, developing a midterm message — Bernie should be consulted first, and his analysis should carry the most weight.

Of course Ross Ulbricht deserves to be pardoned in January. His life sentence was an abomination. Yes, Silk Road likely led to reduced violence and better purity in those drug transactions. But before he’s lionized, remember that he welcomed the sales of guns, organs, cyanide, and like a crime boss, took out multiple assassination contracts on perceived threats to his territory. He’s not a hero, just a young guy who ate mushrooms and became radicalized in his extreme libertarian and anti-social values.
