As an American, I'm personally insulted by the accusation that America, the most powerful country in the history of the world, is helplessly controlled by a tiny country on the Mediterranean 6,000 miles away. I'm insulted that you think it's possible, and I'm insulted that there are Americans dumb enough to believe this. We have a strong alliance with Israel because our values and interests align almost all of the time, and unlike most other "allies," Israel is a strong and capable partner that not only helps out with their innovation and technology but are also willing to chip in when others wouldn't.
