@connoruru @DaleAC93 also why they have all these glam young women and sharp suited good looking but not very bright guys- it’s damn good money to be made on the right for the non too bright but well turned out ,as it’s funded by all kinds of ‘interests’ - not so much to be made to the left:centre

strange but not surprising. Trump and his vice president actively favor Russia, an enemy of our democratic system, over our European democratic allies they are, literally, anti-American
Matthew Yglesias@mattyglesias

It’s just extremely strange that the Vice President of the United States is giving a campaign speech in a foreign country at all, much less that he’s specifically urging the re-election of the pro-Russian anti-western party rather than the reverse.

@IAmSophiaNelson Yes it’s interesting isn’t it - if Trump wants regime change in oppressive nations- he’s giving North Korea a free pass- ! Probably because they do have nukes and don’t have anything he’s after

People like Tucker Carlson and Marjorie Taylor Greene haven’t suddenly become moderates or softened their beliefs. It’s that Trump and his base have moved so far into WhackoLand that they’ve decided his level of insanity is untenable.

@JamesFLoveIV @RepNateMoran @RobXGenX This is exactly it - as a Brit I can see that people may think differently politically and economically however the role requires diplomacy, class and an ability to empathise and act calmly in the interests of all citizens, however they vote - Trump has none of these abilities

Congressman Nathaniel Moran
The United States of America must always be prepared to use overwhelming military force when necessary to defend our national security interests and protect Americans at home and abroad. And, a President should have the latitude to make decisions to that end, but only to the extent that those decisions are also consistent with the inherent authority of a Commander-in-Chief under the U. S. Constitution and the provisions of the War Powers Resolution. To date, I have supported the President’s decisions relating to the Iranian conflict because they were consistent with these authorities and the ultimate goal of protecting national security interests. At the same time, what sets America apart is not only our strength, but how we use it. Our nation has always conducted military operations for just causes and through just and moral means. This must continue in the future; otherwise we forfeit our legitimacy to lead the world. So, let me be clear: I do not support the destruction of a "whole civilization." That is not who we are, and it is not consistent with the principles that have long guided America.  I have and will continue to support a strong national defense—one that is focused, disciplined, and firmly rooted in protecting the safety and security of the American people. But, how we protect the lives of the innocent is just as important as how we engage the enemy. America is great because America is good.

Congratulations to Piers Morgan for recognising tonight that Trump is a little out of control. It’s the brave investigative journalism the world needs right now.

My heart is breaking -- Nick (@nickpopemod) passed away this afternoon at our home. The last few weeks of his life, even as he suffered, he managed to do a few interviews from home. I was so lucky to have met and to have married Nick. He was a wonderful husband. I loved him dearly.

Still in disbelief that this happened to me in #Balham yesterday. I was walking alone with my ear pods in & stopped as I thought he was asking for directions. Instead it was racist abuse. Filmed a few seconds of it. Have reported to @metpoliceuk & am giving a statement next week

@TheGriftReport Might be the case - I’ve lost a fair bit in last year ( well 2 and a half stone) without WLI , takes a lot of will power and consistency though , as I always put weight on holiday and then take3 weeks to get rid of it . It is doable, all WLI really do is cut appetite a lot .

This Morning star Alison Hammond has dropped a staggering 11 stone, going from 30 stone at her heaviest. The secret? She ditched her “childish mentality” around food after a pre-diabetes scare (her mum had Type 2). Her favourite treat, toffees, is now limited to just a couple a day. Sweets and fatty foods are gone. She’s had a personal trainer for five years, does Reformer Pilates and boxing, and now eats everything in moderation. She claims it was NOT weight-loss jabs. 👀 thoughts?

@CWSTracker @adamscochran I do think this would maybe be a better idea, congress or senate, at least you can see on a national scale their performance , rather than say a governor or a random like Trump

@esotericvicky @adamscochran We've yearned that for *decades.* Problem is a *lot* of the elected Dems are really Republican-lite. Bought off by the same lobbies, have many of the same beliefs, and "opposition" is token at best. For every AOC, there's 5 John Fetterman's. Our system is fundamentally broken

@CWSTracker @adamscochran Yep as I’ve said to the other responder I think this needs changing so you have 2 strong and present spokespeople- ideally ones who will probably be presidential candidates.

@Dark_Phnx83 @adamscochran Thanks for that - I can see there’s no power but I would immediately change this so you have strong effective spokespeople - maybe pick 2 of the people most likely to be presidential candidates - and make it ones who are good with the media , both social and physical

@esotericvicky @adamscochran When one party is in power, there is the minority leader. It's the closest we have to an opposition leader. But unlike with you guys, here it's merely ceremonial. No real power. In the House, it's Hakeem Jeffries, who's useless. In the Senate, Chuck Schumer- worse than useless.

Christie: I think anyone that follows politics can tell there are no principles left in my party. Even for people who agree with some of the stuff the president is doing, if you are honest with yourself, you know it is not based on principle. He wakes up every morning and tries to figure out, what is the best thing for him to do in his self interest that day. But the real lack of principle is on display every day in the House and Senate. These people have become lemmings.

@realBenBloch Worth noting that the UK actually arrest it's citizens for tweeting things the UK government doesn't like. The US is monitoring those seeking student VISA's etc in order to keep out extremists radicals who shout "death to America", death to Jews, call for global violence, etc.
