@wmslamcan @FistedFoucault After putting their parents in nursing homes and seeing what happened, they are scared of what will happen if they allow themselves to wither away.

@everrettlamar @FistedFoucault That's going to be a huge civilization-wide issue in the coming years -- senile boomers refusing to step down from their positions because it's forever the summer of '69 to them hahaha.

All talk of war crimes is a waste of time since the USA would never allow any of their own to be tried at The Hague (and have a law specifically to not permit it)....but for students of the ICTY (ex-YU war crimes trials), this is precisely the slam dunk quote that would be used.

@FistedFoucault To all these people replying that there is a possibility of a Trump tribunal, will this be before or after Putin's trial? War crimes tribunals are what liberals do as a triumph i.e. parade your captive enemy in defeat to be judged by the most holy doctrine of human rights.

@eugyppius1 After crushing them with those trade deals last summer, Trump and friends should have just played nice with Europe. He got a huge concession and just kept pressing until eurocrats grew a backbone, so short sighted.

Before anybody gets mad, this is just my honest description of how it is. It's a real illustration of the costs of inconsistent messaging and how Trump is punching way below his diplomatic weight when it comes to Europe and giving all the worst Eurotards a golden opportunity to posture at his expense.

@F1lippos Tearing up the old track is such a spiteful decision when the oval still exists at monza. Not only was a decision taken to butcher an iconic track but they figuratively salted the earth to ensure no one could ever race the old circuit again.

@DagoSupremacy I can only hope that'll it work out in the end as he has somehow managed time and again. Right now it's hard to see what the positives from this war will be and how those will outweigh the negatives. Nevertheless, stay the course not like there is another respectable option.

Normally, I would assume that Trump is using hyperbole a la “Art of the Deal,” and maybe he is but I’m not sure who he’s even making a deal with? Also, I didn’t think he’d really attack Iran at all so my radar may be broken. Either way, I hope this isn’t really going to happen. Some people criticized me as not being willing to stand for anything but I didn’t want a war, didn’t think it would happen (I was wrong obviously) and now I hate that it has happened. I’ve been at least a little consistent on this. I think a lot of Trump voters could have understood the need to sacrifice for deporting immigrants and/or to restore American industry…but this war is such a departure from “trust the plan” I don’t really know what to think…I’m growing increasingly concerned.

It is not up to the people of the world to decipher the public statements of the President of the United States like we were reading the entrails of a dead crow or cloud signs. When he says ''civilization'' we take it to mean the nation of Iran, not the current government.

No, the Americans have burned that bridge too many times and we are always left rebuilding it. Let us rekindle old alliances with Britain and forge new ones with the EU.

100 %. I detect a sense of resignation in Europe that there’s no point in appeasing these cynical provocateurs anymore.Rubio and the top military know that pulling US bases out of Europe would be an epic act of self-harm.They won’t say it but the message is: Pull out or shut up
John O'Connell@jdpoc

With all the threats from USA of pulling out of NATO, and pulling out of their European bases, they don’t seem to realise there is a rising ground swell of opinion that they should just do exactly that. Time to call their bluff.

@eugyppius1 In what world would spending be reduced by pulling out of europe. It'll be redirected towards other theaters. Cutting off a food source for defense procurement just means they'll start feeding more elsewhere. Despite my belief that leaving Europe is prudent, konrad's take is dumb

“we could pay down all our debt and wouldn’t have to pay taxes at all if we cut Europe loose” - this guy Europe is now becoming just an abstract symbol for everything that is not going well or that these people don’t like. It’s amazing.
John Ʌ Konrad V@johnkonrad

What if America is already far richer than anyone in the swamp is allowed to admit? What if the real drag on the Republic isn’t taxes, isn’t debt, isn’t even the deficit, it’s Europe? What if NATO was never a mutual defense pact, but a 75-year subscription America forgot to cancel? What if “burden sharing” is the most expensive euphemism in the English language? What if the City of London cabal is draining our banks? What if the advice from globalists is terrible advice that’s costing us big? What if every European basing agreement, every forward-deployed brigade, every Ramstein runway, every Aviano hangar, every Souda Bay pier is a tax American workers pay so Berlin can run a welfare state and Paris can run a 35-hour week? What if foreign aid to Europe isn’t aid, it’s tribute, flowing the wrong way? What if transporting the vast majority of trade on European owned ships costs more than we realize? What if the NGO archipelago in Brussels, Geneva, and The Hague is just a money-laundering loop where US taxpayer dollars get rinsed through a “civil society” conference and returned as lectures about our democracy? What if the UN isn’t a parliament of man, it’s a Manhattan timeshare with diplomatic plates, an accounting black hole, and a Human Rights Council chaired by people who’d jail you for tweeting this? What if “the rules-based international order” was always code for: Americans build it, Americans pay for it, Americans bleed for it, and Europeans grade it? What if $36 trillion in debt looks a lot smaller the second you stop underwriting a continent that sneers at you in three languages? What if you zeroed out the Europe line, the NATO line, the UN line, the NGO line, and woke up tomorrow in a country with the fiscal headroom to rebuild every shipyard, every foundry, every rail line, and every Navy hull we’ve let rot since the Cold War ended? What if American tourists went to American cathedrals, American opera, American museums, American cities instead. I’m not saying I believe all of it. I’m saying maybe, just maybe, we could pay down all our debt and wouldn’t have to pay taxes at all if we cut Europe loose.

@Bvelzito That literally only applies to the leader before the final stint, everything behind that is for position and they matter, it's so hard to pass when the guy in front of you also has a tow. You save fuel by following and not needing full throttle to maintain top speed.

The Yugoslav MotoGP, considered the most dangerous and mismanaged stop on the entire motorcycle Grand Prix schedule, took place at the Grobnik Automotodrom—which literally translates to ‘grave.’ All events were cancelled after 1990. Honestly, this might be the most Balkan sight I’ve ever seen: a half-naked guy casually lifting injured riders onto a stretcher with a dart hanging out of his mouth
