The Robot was late arriving in Edinburgh, and we started doing Robotic Surgery only in 2023. Our training involved hours on the simulator and visits to centres in London, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Leiden. Thank you to Sasha Stamenkovic for mentoring Malcolm and me; (20 years ago, Sasha was our Registrar in Edinburgh; how times change!!). We have had a smooth run with our Robotic experience, and last week we did our 100th Robotic Thoracic surgery in Edinburgh. We celebrated today. @NHS_Lothian @CTS_RIE @RIE_Lothian @IntuitiveSurg

1st Anniversary🎉 of RAS at RIE. Today General Surgeons joined RAS💃🏾. We have managed to overcome bigger obstacles/challenges, and am so proud of my team who have been a pillar of strength. Now 3 specialities utilising the DaVinci ,Well done @rietheatres @IntuitiveSurg 🎉🎉
