Cambria, the manager for the ETF $TOKE, is shutting down the fund in April. About 2 years ago, I signed on to try and resurrect this ETF, which only had $8 million. For an ETF to be profitable, it really needs to have more than $50 million. So, Cambria was losing money on it.

This piece by @aaronvalue is the most thoughtful analysis I’ve seen written about @LeefBrands. He clearly explains why our farm, Salisbury Canyon Ranch, is valuable not only for its low-cost cultivation advantage, but also because its location helps protect our crops from the pesticide drift that contaminates many farms across California. In five minutes, you’ll understand what I’ve been trying to explain for the past year. 🔗 substack.com/home/post/p-19… $LEEF $LEEEF

Today is a huge day for LEEF. I work in the industry because I want to do something meaningful with my career and work with great people. Today’s announcement that @aaronvalue and Mindset Capital have made a significant investment in our company and that @jamiemendola has joined the board are big steps forward on both fronts. I’ve known Aaron for years and watched him quickly identify the importance of low-cost supply chains. His investment in LEEF will allow us to complete the remaining 115 acres of the 180-acre permit size at Salisbury Canyon Ranch and accelerate other growth initiatives. Expected to be completed in the fall of 2026, Salisbury Canyon Ranch is projected to be the largest legal cannabis farm in the world. Completing the farm is a game-changer. This is expected to drive higher margins and enable LEEF to rely almost exclusively on its own supply of clean, low-cost biomass to produce concentrates. Adding Jamie Mendola to the board will also be impactful. Jamie is someone I’ve always respected. Every time we talk, I leave thinking…wow, that guy is smart. After Higher Exchanges last year, I called him to talk about LEEF. He came to the ranch; we spent the day exploring the farm and were up late that night, drawing ideas on the whiteboard. Now, he’s joining LEEF’s board, and he will be very valuable in helping take LEEF to the next level. LEEF has leveled up, and I could not be more excited about our future. LEEF Brands@LeefBrands

📈 LEEF Has Leveled Up! We've secured a US$4.5M initial closing (up to US$8M) in financing led by Mindset Capital and @aaronvalue — a strong vote of confidence in our vision. This capital will accelerate the full expansion of Salisbury Canyon Ranch — our flagship California cultivation asset set to become one of the largest licensed cannabis farms in the world by fall 2026. With increased internal supply of clean, low-cost, high-quality biomass, we're positioning for better margins, increased product quality, and long-term leadership in producing clean concentrates. We're also thrilled to welcome @jamiemendola to our Board of Directors. Jamie's deep expertise in scaling cannabis operators and navigating capital markets will be invaluable as we grow. As Aaron noted, in a world moving toward federal reform, vertically integrated players like LEEF with secure, pesticide-free inputs will stand out. Excited for what's next — stay tuned for updates as we take LEEF to the next level! Full press release: globenewswire.com/news-release/2… $LEEF $LEEEF

Grown Rogue $GRUSF is taking over the former PharmaCann's Illinois facility that is owned by $IIPR. This deal is the first time $GRUSF is taking advantage of the distress in cannabis and it is a phenomenal deal.

Today, I'm excited to launch my lifelong passion project, Grand Old Books!! 🚀 There are 1000s of beautiful novels of the past, not in English, locked up in old PDFs, with no physical copies left. We started with Indian texts and brought back 12 books in 6 languages with pictures and annotations. This is, and will always be, completely free. We can't let time wash away history. Please comment to let me know what book you'd like to see added.

This is a profile of a private equity firm that doesn’t follow many of the rules of private equity. 3G’s funds only have one company, the partners are the largest investors, they run the businesses themselves, and they hope to never sell. Alex Behring, Daniel Schwartz, and their co-founders have been doing it their own way for over fifty years. Enjoy the insights, stories, and lessons.
Colossus@colossusmag

The story of 3G Capital involves Roger Federer, Sam Walton, and Warren Buffett. It includes the biggest beer company on earth, the biggest footwear deal in history, and a ketchup bottle with Charlie Munger's face on it. It also involves accusations of 'chainsaw capitalism,' CEOs driving freight trains, and billion-dollar companies being handed to kids in their twenties. Buffett called it the best management culture he'd ever seen. But, until now, the story behind the culture has never been told by the people who carry it forward. In truth, 3G would prefer you had never heard of it. The firm began in New York in 2004. But the real story starts in the seventies, off the beaches of Rio de Janeiro, when Jorge Paulo Lemann bought a brokerage for $800,000 and built a model for running businesses unlike anything else in Brazil. The model has since produced the biggest investment bank in Brazil, the world’s largest brewer, the third-largest restaurant company, and turned hundreds of employees into multimillionaires. In 3G Capital, it has also produced a rare kind of investing partnership, one where each fund holds exactly one company, the partners are the largest investors in every fund, they work the businesses themselves, and they have never lost money on a deal. Almost everything written about the firm notes that managing partners Alex Behring and Daniel Schwartz did not respond for comment. For Colossus, they sat for hours of interviews at their Manhattan office. @domcooke tells the full story of how this secretive firm with fewer than 30 employees has built some of the world's biggest companies.

@NickPinkston @Gursewa47859328 @3001Singh @YIMBYLAND The Khalistan movement is active only amongst the Sikh community abroad. I’m a sikh who lived in Punjab most of my life never heard anybody mention it. The diaspora is clinging on to old wounds while the population here moved on long ago.

@markemerritt @b40cannabis Thank you. I had not seen this data but was just confused by PRs from literally every Canadian cannabis company claiming they had the #1 brand.

this is how Trellis breaks it out by brand for the 2nd half of 2025 these are estimates, but there is only one brand that can claim #1 share by these numbers 👉 @b40cannabis $CBWTF
Mark E. Merritt tweet media
Mark E. Merritt@markemerritt

@fatehsmann Who else claims it? @AuxlyGroup $CBWTF says it because, in fact, @b40cannabis is the #1 *brand* in 🇨🇦. $OGI *as an LP* is the largest market share holder across a collection of brands. Perhaps that is the confusion?

@sammyj_19 @junglejava1 Was looking at 3 year performances- C21 was one of only 5 US cannabis cos (out of ~25) that produced a double digit CAGR! Others were GLASF, GRUSF, VREOF and LIEN. (3 year performances ending 5th January 2025 from Koyfin)
