The Trump Administration and President Trump’s @WHTaskForceFIFA are deeply focused on making sure that FIFA World Cup 2026 venues are protected during the tournament, as well as establishing longer-term protections against drone threats to keep Americans safe.

To further strengthen security, $250 million in Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems grants were distributed in December to host states and the National Capital Region to combat the unlawful use of drones and enhance local protections.

Today, we awarded $625 million through the new FIFA World Cup Grant Program to empower host states and cities to protect players and fans and secure this year’s FIFA World Cup events. This funding is available thanks to @POTUS and the One Big Beautiful Bill signed in July 2025.

The major winter storm impacting the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes will gradually wind down today. Heavy snow and strong winds will continue to produce blizzard conditions and significant travel impacts today.
