@theshenami I can understand it from this angle. That's why it's a conundrum to me, I still didn't find a formula that doesn't undermine the LSS. The only one that comes close is plugging realization on both deaths right at the NC then proper grief once we come back, less issues but still.

@ffSteeD27 I'd argue the opposite, that both segments need their own dedicated story sections to spotlight each arc. Also, the LSS serves a very specific narrative purpose, and mourning is not a part of that.

I want constructive conversation out of this, which is why I'd love for someone to give me a satisfactory answer to this question (I am unable to): - Where can the story fit Aerith's death at the end of the game in a way that doesn't undermine Cloud being HIM after the LSS?

I can't believe you all want to erase Cloud's role in the LSS just to put Tifa at the same level as him? Anything to undermine Cloud's role in the story.

@Braedberi__07 Well they have micro stories within the big overarching FF7 plot. But two main arcs are by far the biggest in FF7 -Cloud's identity (biggest imo) -Planet's Crisis The rest revolves around this in my perception.

I've also been meaning to say this: The LSS is about Cloud's identity. It means that it's not about Zack or Aerith but also NOT about Tifa either. It's about HIM. If writers decide that in Remake Cloud needs to learn all the truths he repressed to heal, it'd be consistent.

As a "theorybro" myself, I actually am in favor of giving us slang that equates us to "shippers" We are more alike than we like to think 😅 The problem is when one grows attached to one's theory or ship to the point they get defensive and deny outright cannon.

By calling them "Theory" bros I feel like we're giving them too much credit, they're actually "Hypothesis" bros, because a Theory explains patterns across many instances and predicts outcomes in new situations and let's face it, they havent gotten any major prediction correct yet

@ffSteeD27 My personal theory is they’re going to add more context to the LSS scene and he will have the revelation that they are gone, and he will put himself back together and be his real self, but the further flashbacks and details will happen later like at the forgotten capital. 1/2

This fandom and its desire to lower Tifa and stomp her role into the ground have done irreparable damage to discourse surrounding this game, and yeah it actively turns people off of different scenarios because we know what the discourse resulting from those scenarios will take place.

@StrawderryST That's why I think the Zack/Aerith worlds get resolved at the beginning of the LSS, and Cloud revisits them at the end of Remake. Those are the same spaces he ends up visiting in ACC imo.
