Hi this is Harriet. Just visiting @forwardnotback and he’s asked me to let you all know that he’s a) still alive b) doing better but not out of the woods and c) deeply touched by everyone’s thoughts. He’s still in critical care but it’s looking much more hopeful.

Quick update, sorry no more #twitterquiz I am in critical care in Portsmouth and gravely ill. Sorry for the message, thanks for all the fun and friendship over the years. I can’t reply to messages.

@forwardnotback There is quite a difference here to when I was seriously ill in hospital I got sent videos of a family of ‘annoyed’ swans with the legendary Fierce Dad in effect screaming where was was the woman who fed him.

@forwardnotback I've spent the day in London visiting from up north. Walked from Primrose Hill to the Embankment and thought about you. Would have been nice to have you as a guide. Hope you are continuing to improve 💕

The oil for Mum’s tank has gone from 52p a litre to £1.33 today and they’re only holding that price for the next half an hour. What the actual fuck.

@annanderson2012 His ability to use stuff as a deflection away from almost any issue The Pearl Harbour reference was crass and many other things but it did the job he intended it to do - a constant tactic and he is very good at it It is good to be posting - thank you

@forwardnotback I hope you’re starting to feel a bit better. My son criticised me for still being on X, but the interactions alone kept me sane during shielding and lockdown. Chin up!❤️

Was great to welcome the Secretary of State @wesstreeting to Canterbury today to thank the team at @UniKent who are vaccinating students against #MenB meningitis.

There’s a risk to Reform of failing to recognise that most of the public make quite a clear distinction between straight talking (one of the things many like about Farage) and what they will see as unnecessarily rude/nasty or just UnBritish coming from a politician.
ITVPolitics@ITVNewsPolitics

'I really wanted to come on in a Reform tartan burka, but apparently I wasn't allowed' 'On day lets do one of these events not livestreamed. We'll do all the naughty stuff' Sarah Pochin says she wants to wear a tartan burka at Reform's Scottish Election launch

My allowed political post today to amplify this Almost every bit of the appeal of Farage and Polanski is rooted it people’s despair and tiredness of everything being broken/not working and the cost-of-living-crisis They voted for change which isn’t happening fast enough so …
Luke Tryl@LukeTryl

Still think too much of response to Polanski and Farage relies on “well populists can say that/fantasy economics” without properly engaging with the fact that in both distinct and similar ways both of them have narratives about giving people agency/hope things can be better

Some prefer clinicians to front stuff like this - I think both the relevant politicians and clinicians should do it - Here is @wesstreeting doing serious, non party political comms and he is good at it He didn’t stray from facts and a calm delivery ✅

@forwardnotback Very well, thank you. Off to see The Marriage of Figaro tonight at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle tonight. Last time I went to the opera there I sat next to a friendly couple. When I got home I realised they were Christine & Neil Hamilton! Wonder who I’ll be sat next to tonight?
