@jonmasters “Only used a couple of times” absolutely does NOT describe my early iPhone experience and I bought one 7 days after initial launch. I want Vision Pro to succeed but needs to be more than just an awesome to way to watch movies for me to get one.

Vision Pro is a new product category. It’ll take time to play out. That said, I’ve owned a Vision Pro since they came out and used it only a couple of times. But it reminds me of the early iPhone. Things will change once apps/new devices appear over the coming years

@Adman_NZ Time Machine backups for all Macs in the house and a large-ish Plex library of lossless rips of every Blu-ray or DVD I have bought.

@stshank Briggs and Riley - on the pricey side but they have a hassle-free lifetime guarantee.

@Adman_NZ Much nerdier, but I also like a StreamDeck. Puts your common tasks on to real buttons. I have things like Mute Camera or Mic, Take Screenshot, Launch Zoom, Turn Lights On/Off, and then a pair of macros that launch/quit all my work apps (Email, Chrome, Slack etc).

@Adman_NZ How much are we talking? Biggest improvement to video quality on meetings is some kind of light - I like the Elgato Keylight Mini. It's only $100 plus you need some place to mount it.

Although Jack's post is about Kafka specifically, it's relevant to almost any cloud service. TL;DR is that Bring-Your-Own-Cloud approach sounds tempting but has serious limitations.

Love @elgato CamLink 4k for connecting my digital camera to my Mac. But have to turn off hand gestures in macOS Sonoma because triggering a gesture causes video to freeze.
