Some people are born with nervous systems like jet engines and the rest of us are running on old Honda batteries. You see it in those CEO interviews: eyes too bright, speech clipping along, hands chopping the air. Everyone assumes cocaine. Sometimes it is. A lot of times it is just a body that wakes up at 5 a.m. already at 120% charge. They get bored slower. They recover faster. They can sit in fluorescent rooms, back to back meetings, red eye flights, and still talk like they just drank sunlight. Energy is a rigged stat. Some people spawn with stamina and charisma cranked up. Others get depth, sensitivity, pattern recognition, but burn out from three social interactions and a commute. The ugly part is the world is built by and for the high-energy ones. The rest of us look “lazy” when really we are just paying more for every hour we’re alive.

lot of people think ceos are on coke or stimulants because of how hyper they look in interviews but i think the unfortunate truth is that natural amount of energy is extremely unequally distributed
