Ignoring the question of far left, Geoffrey Miller has been an advocate for polyamory and non-monogamous lifestyles for decades. He is attempting to remake himself, on the basis that EA looks too much like a cult, but he is clearly not a conservative. I favor regime change in Iran, but I'm deeply worried that inadequate preparation will prevent that goal from being achieved. There seem to be holes in the strategy, from the lack of coordination with the opposition, to the lapse in preparing the American people ahead of the attack.

This stuff is basically indistinguishable from nativist propaganda 100-150 years ago against the Irish, the Italians, and the Chinese. And history should remind us that there were massacres and pogroms of Chinese immigrants in the 1880s fuels by some of this rhetoric.

Not only does current evidence suggest the downward ballistic-arc droplet infection model is wrong, but a large portion of exhaled bioaerosols don't just drift laterally; they actually rise on the thermal plume of warm exhaled air and body heat, then fall back into the breathing zone as they cool. My experience so far with LLM fiction writing is that it takes advantage of our assumption that an author is writing things for a reason, so we are charitable to a book's quirks & do mental work to assign them real meaning. But the AI doesn't have a reason, its just bad writing.

Why are birth rates collapsing across the world?
It’s not culture. It’s not biology. And it’s not that people suddenly stopped wanting kids.
It’s because the path to a stable adult life has become more expensive, more uncertain, and more delayed.
Housing costs have exploded. “Breadwinner jobs” have shrunk. Education takes longer and pays off less. And even when people delay having kids to get established, many never catch up.
Children are the longest-term investment people make. When the expected return becomes uncertain, fewer people make it.

It's a useless law. There's nothing it prevents but if you're going to use an ID, our driver's licenses are already federalized. That should be good enough although that would still disenfranchise folks.
