@GHHILL1911 @XyloBits I was the creative director at spinlaunch and personally witnessed action cameras and 3d prints survive three g loads in the scale simulator

@XyloBits From a Physics standpoint, this is a completely retarded concept. Anything you would want to put into orbit would be destroyed by the centrifugal forces.

If I have to pay $6 rent a 40 year old movie off Amazon when I have a Prime subscription then we should just reopen Blockbuster. I'd rather have their employees judge my life choices.

What I love about 3D is understanding the underlying concepts: how light reflects, how a mesh is affected by displacement, and how it looks after a subdivision surface, etc. With AI, you don’t get that part. You just describe something and it’s done. It’s truly not fulfilling, from my point of view...

Email signature generators suck! Shameless bait and switches, hidden charges etc. So I made my own pipeline for making gmail signatures. use it here: series-x.co/web-apps/email…

Pretty cool how a large LLM model is essentially a low loss compression of a big percentage of the internet, and human knowledge. Having a machine that can locally run a big model should be a staple in a doomsday prepper's stash

Happy Thanksgiving! This year, I'm especially grateful for our team at @hadron_energy and everything they do. Their dedication is the reason a vision born less than two years ago has grown into one of the fastest-rising energy companies in the country. From developing foundational IP, to raising early capital, to assembling a world-class team of nuclear engineers and industry veterans, every step has been focused on building a scalable path toward resilient, clean, next-generation energy. Over just the past few months, we’ve: • Announced a definitive agreement to enter the public markets in Q1 2026 at a $1.2B valuation • Received a signed letter of support from the President of the United States recognizing Hadron’s role in America’s energy dominance (still surreal) • Accelerated development of our micro modular reactors (MMRs) designed to power the data centers and industries of the next century As we look ahead, our upcoming IPO represents the next major step in bringing our technology to the world and accelerating the impact we set out to create. Grateful for our team. Grateful for our partners. Grateful for everyone who is following along on this journey. Happy Thanksgiving!

The saddest thing about AI is that people who you'd regard as vessels of knowledge and wisdom lose their practical value. Like I spent my entire life aggregating what I think are super niche and interesting ideas, knowledge, experiences. But my daughter will not need to ask me about any of it. For a human, my LLM is pretty impressive, but I can't compete with a robot.. Before google I had my Grandpas. They were truly like chatGPT, I would ask any question about any topic and they had answers ready. Makes me sad to think that my grandchildren won't get to see me in that light.

@akgfx I tried everything, if you spawn the points on the surface rather than casting them, the end results produce a lower quality gaussian.

@itsrobhimself I’ve been wondering if there’s a more efficient approach than the raycasting approach I put forth; Something crawling the outer surfaces rather than depending on a camera seeing them. Maybe this could lead to a robust camera placement algorithm rather than the other way around.

I've finally released Gauss Cannon for Blender. It aims to be the go-to solution for exporting Blender scenes to Gaussian Splats using LichtFeld Studio (or Postshot) for processing. Please give it a try and let me know what you think! github.com/keshmirian/gau…

Thanks Arash! I actually went a little crazy and made something very special that I think you'll appreciate: drive.google.com/drive/folders/… it's a blender addon, haven't had time to make a tutorial but there is a markdown format guide in there. You just need to make sure you have python and open3d installed on your machine. essentially the addon exports a fused mesh, camera intrinsics and transforms, and a one click execution python script that you just double click in the output folder. this script does raycasting in open3d (took it out of blender to parallelize) then uses a consesus algorithm and some filtering logic to optimize and color the pointcloud. there are also some really neat QOL features like the ones I asked you about(adding camera to the end) and many other. this is very raw but I think very much usable.

@itsrobhimself It doesn’t currently. It will only use the generated camera from the helper mesh(es). I could add an “additional cameras” option which also exports all keyframed positions for those cameras, would that work?

I don’t anything about watches, but am looking for something respectable to wear on my wrist. Something that a watch nerd might go ‘nice’ at, but won’t break the bank. Any recommendations?

And in an emergency you cannot be denied treatment. For all other unfortunate circumstances like cancer, god forbid, you book a flight to Russia or another country with great, cheap healthcare and get far superior treatment for equal to or less than the cost to get insured in America

Health insurance in America is a scam, I did the math for a family of 3: You are paying $12,000+ a year for insurance (which sucks by the way and is really hard to actually get medical treatments) and you stil have to copay A generous out of pocket, cash, yearly cost for a family of 3 having routine visits physicals, 2-3 minorilnesses a year is about $3-4k
