@jackprice No I think this is a good thing actually it creates an ease of use for non technical users. This makes things easy to navigate creates consistency on the web and improves over all user experience

@akamaotto I would argue it’s entirely different. The books are practically curriculum monopolies. There are millions of startup websites… you sorta have to stand out

Has been this way since 2018. An epidemic that is only made worse with agents enforcing more specific and recognizable design patterns

@jackprice UIs should maximize for information and minimize cognitive load, all else equal. The identical websites give no information from the design alone (doesn’t tell me anything new) which is a trade off in the optimization problem
