@rileybrown3d I got a MacBook Pro m1 max and now my desktop sits unused even when I'm at home because the laptop is just so good. I like being able to take it with me and work from a coffee shop every now and then to change things up. Then I just render on a farm for finals.

I’ve never been a laptop guy. Always 3D on a big desktop setup. I have need to model/texture/render on the go. What’s your recommendation for a solid laptop or brand? Open to wide price range.

I never thought I'd stare at reflective surfaces so much in my life. But to be a good VFX artist you need to know how light works in the real world! Here's the tutorial that resulted:

@SirWrender In this scenario, I would sometimes paint out the sun in the hdri and then add it back as a light in 3d. Not ideal but it works pretty well.

Is there an AI model that can pull over-exposure back from jpgs? Let’s say in the sky? Might be useful for getting higher dynamic range when creating custom HDRIs. Without ND filters, 360 cams can’t expose fast enough to see the sun shape. Crucial for good hdri renders.

@jacobjholiday Hi, I prefer the the X-Rite Classic. For me it is the best option, because the „Passport Photo“ patches can easily get too small if you need to place the chart further away from the camera.
