As many of you have heard, air traffic control is extremely short staffed. The FAA is trying to hire something like 2,000 controller over the next couple of years. Although these hiring windows are somewhat frequent, they are limited. So if you or someone you know is interested in applying, and you are 30 years old or younger, don’t wait too long. I’m happy to answer any questions if anybody wants more information.

🇮🇷 Closing the Strait of Hormuz doesn't just spike fuel costs. What it also does is cutting off the natural gas that nitrogen fertilizer is made from. No nitrogen fertilizer means lower crop yields. Lower yields mean food shortages. And unlike oil, you can't stockpile a harvest. The clock on this isn't years but months. Planting seasons don't wait for diplomacy. The early signs are already there. South Asia is seeing fuel and fertilizer costs filter into food prices. Kenya and much of Africa, which import nearly everything they plant with, are sitting directly in the blast radius. The food crisis won't announce itself but will show up quietly in markets in Nairobi and Dhaka before it makes headlines in New York. Hormuz is a food chokepoint just as it's an energy one. The world just hasn't realized it quite yet.
