Happy to share that 7 railway stations in Srikakulam district, from Palasa to Ichapuram, have now been transferred from the Kurda Road Division of East Coast Railway to the Visakhapatnam Division of the South Coast Railway Zone. This has been a long-pending aspiration of our people, and I have been consistently pursuing it since the zone’s announcement in 2019. I sincerely thank Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji and Railway Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw ji on behalf of people of Srikakulam for this thoughtful decision. Stations including Palasa, Baruva, Jadhupudi, summadevi, Sompeta, Mandasa Road, and Ichచ్apuram will now come under this zone, ensuring better administrative efficiency and improved services for the people of Srikakulam.

On the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav today, taking a look at a small town in Andhra Pradesh named after him. Hanuman Junction lies right on NH16 at border of Krishna and West Godavari districts. The town gets it's name from the fact that it lies on junction of NH16 and Machilipatnam-Nuzvid roads. There is a story that the Zamindar of Nuzvid Meka Venkatadri Rao, once got a banana from a monkey, and he believed it was from Hanuman itself. The town is famous for the Abhayanjenya Swamy temple located right at the junction of two highways. This temple is located right on the border of Krishna-West Godavari districts. The feet of the deity are right on the border, while the Garba Gudi is in West Godavari dt, and the stairs are in Krishna dt. Also the face of the deity is more human like. Though the temple is a small one, many devotees visit this from neighbouring areas. There is also a Sita Rama Dasanjaneya swami Temple nearby at Epuru, that has a 45 feet Hanuman statue erected in 2015. Located at the junction of two highways, the town is a thriving business center. Also every Tuesday, Wednesday there is a huge cattle fair here, which is believed to be largest in Andhra Pradesh. If you are travelling from Vijayawada to Vizag on NH-16, you can see this town and also the temple here.

From "Jambu" to "Jammu" 🏔️ Legend has it Raja Jambu Lochan saw a tiger and goat drinking peaceably from the Tawi River 🐅🐐. He founded 'Jambupura' in the 14th century BC, which was changed to Jammu in post 1947 world by the Kashmiri Politicians. I see a conspiracy behind the change of name as in a History book long back i saw following “Jammu term was first seen in Taimurnana and there is no other history” .
