@MilleaNick @WoodstockCycli1 @OxfordshireCC I find local authorities view issues with cycle lanes, pavements, footpaths and other rights of way as lower priority for maintenance than roads. Active travel strategies generally fail to address maintenance, but it's key to making the experience of active travel positive.

@alrightPET Bad language aside, I find that most business and self-help books are a long magazine article padded out to book length. There are usually a handful of key takeaways. There are honourable exceptions, of course - they tend to remain in print and go into new editions.

Recently read a personal finance book with f*ck in the title. It didn't add anything to the book, which was helpful but honestly could have been half as long as it was.
Glad I bought a second-hand copy, which I've reduced to a 1 page precis.
