@Peter_Bukowski I think some people took Gutekunst’s “contract year” comment literally, but I thought he was referring to cut candidates like Gary and Jenkins. Usually contract year is considered a positive thing, but unhappiness with role plus assumption will be cut could explain it.

Quay Walker has since complained about his role. Rashan Gary had to be shamed into playing more snaps. Nate Hobbs lost his job to injury and got cut after Year 1. Romeo Doubs had previously complained about his role. It’s not THAT hard to extrapolate candidates.
Ryan Wood@ByRyanWood

Asked Matt LaFleur what it’ll take to push #Packers past NFC’s seventh seed. Unprompted, he brought up players discontent with their roles last season. Expanded comments on roles and how it might have affected negative NFLPA report about Matt LaFleur’s respect for players.

Funny, rumored Trump EO will debank many, by requiring “proof of citizenship” that folks, mostly Republicans, can’t do (no passport, changed name since birth, etc..) as @chasserehwinkel and I write in @BankThink. Will @AFergusonFTC fight that debanking? americanbanker.com/opinion/trump-…

Today, I put the CEOs of Stripe, Paypal, Visa, and Mastercard on notice: the Trump-Vance FTC will not hesitate to act against companies that debank customers in violation of their terms of service or the reasonable expectation of consumers. ftc.gov/news-events/ne…

@RossUglem Yeah I genuinely don’t get this sudden “you actually don’t NEED CBs to win” thing going around Pretty much the literal opposite is the truth

Counterpoint. You trade up to let’s say 34 by trading 52 and 87 to snag one of the top CBs like a Chris Johnson or Brandon Cisse Or DT route could be any one of; Kayden McDonald Christen Miller Lee Hunter That leaves Gutekunst with five Day 3 picks to play with.
Kevin@GBP4EVER

@Brennen_Rupp GB has to many holes to fill and without a 1st round pick you can't afford to give up more high draft picks

@Peter_Bukowski It’s a myth that this is a Packers thing. Every team is trying to hit big with their 1st round pick, and the Packers have actually got a decent floor from their 1st rounders anyway. They’ve never fully whiffed on one under Gute to the point they haven’t been a functional player.

Drafting based on what a player will be in Year 1 is how you miss out on upside. Most rookies are bad. Don’t chase high-floor players for the sake of what they are as rookies.
Pratt@packersman87

@Peter_Bukowski I really think Guteys biggest problem is he takes too big of swing on projects in the 1st round! Like seriously get a player that you plan on playing year 1... also I don't think he's the best on a personal level, times have changed build the relationship with the players

I like Gracen Halton as much as the next guy but I don't think the Packers are taking a 290 lb. DT after signing Javon Hargrave. They're looking thiccccc IMO

I know there’s a lot of talk about the Packers needing a nose tackle this offseason (and I took Orange in my mock today), but when was the last time they spent a real resource on a designated nose? It’s a specialist position and they value versatility.

@Peter_Bukowski Same. I watch selection show and do bracket. Study results of the tournaments - edit. Study KenPom, adjust based on strongest/weakest seeds in each tier. Study strongest upset factors, edit. Consult old gods & the new, edit, ad infinitum. Have not watched a lick of college ball

It's not that other administrations have not tried to influence coverage, but the brazen and open attempt to intimidate and suppress free media just one more disturbing trends towards authoritarianism of this administration. nytimes.com/2026/03/14/wor…
