@bitappend @BretWeinstein @duolingo Yep. I purchased the full app, and even Now, there is a certain game type on there- flash cards- It goes up to level 9. I can not get past level 3 by myself. I would definitely have to buy 'extra time' to continue it. They're all doing tricks like this now though. Its wrong

@BretWeinstein @duolingo it was way better years ago. Now its just eye cancer or overpriced. even if you pay it still tries to sell you upgrades with ads. They totally cannibalised a great product.

@CosmoKrameryyz @afneil Maybe, i don't know how courts work. I'd guess he would have to prove or state why its 1 billion. If he can prove somehow why it should be 1 billion then, maybe yeah. I don't think the courts will allow you to just make up your own figure.

The BBC do something special as a public broadcaster. Thats why it has a status and reach far beyond impact of any one presenter, director, actor or viewer. The Panorama about edits clearly shocking and needs addressing. But we dismantle it or disown it at our national peril.

@john_sleet @afneil If the BBC refused to pay up then I assume the BBC's assets and business interests in the US would be confiscated by whichever US court hears this. Could possibly come with an injunction against the BBC operating in the US until damages are fully discharged

@john_sleet @SBarrettBar Kings Counsel ie the legal representative for King Charles ie the State. It used to be the more familiar QC, Queens Counsel, but of course HM QE2 died a little while ago. The Q/KC is the Crown representative against the defendant in any criminal trial.
