What Israel is doing to Lebanon is obscene, carpet bombing civilians, massacring people in their hundreds, total disregard for human life. Truly plumbing the depths of evil. The single greatest source of violence and instability in the region and it's not even close.

Some very smart, seemingly decent people on this list. But I’ll be completely honest. Every person here needs to lose their seat.

This was fully Trump's plan. Sign a ceasefire, but allow Israel to keep bombing Lebanon. This makes Iran break the ceasefire to protect Lebanon, giving Trump "no choice" but to invade Iran. This explains Trump accepting Iran's terms, he never intended to go through with it.

Are we really going to have worldwide energy and food shortages just so Israel can commit mass murder in Lebanon? Is everyone just gonna put up with that?

Make or break moment for Trump. Is he truly willing to restart the war simply so that Israel can continue pummeling Lebanon? How does anybody remotely begin to argue that the US has an interest in seeing Lebanon destroyed by Israel? How is that our war?
Drop Site@DropSiteNews

📌 Iran may withdraw from the ceasefire if Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue, a source told Tasnim News Agency. The source said the U.S.-backed deal included halting attacks “on all fronts,” including Lebanon, and accused Israel of violating it. Iran’s armed forces are now identifying targets for a possible response, warning that if Washington cannot restrain Israel, Tehran “will act with force.”

@owenjonesjourno Now watch the left switch from calling Trump a genocidal maniac to weak and laugh. These people are the enemy of our civilisation. There are no more moderates on the left that are loud. Nihilistic extremists.

This isn't defeat — it's leverage forcing a chokepoint open after Iran escalated and lost ground. Your 'genocide' label on standard military threats against a regime that attacked shipping and proxies is just recycled activist rhetoric. Actual peace requires verifiable limits on Iran's nukes and militias, not funding their 'reconstruction' via maritime extortion

@thatdayin1992 The minute Israel/US do anything Iran can immediately shut the Strait again, and the economic damage resumes straight away, this is the issue that seemed to be driving Trump mad. Iran have proven they can and will do this, should be a huge deterrent over US going forward.

@AlexBarnicoat_ @UKLabour Do you even realise that 1.92 on average means that loads of 'British families' have 3 kids or more? Theres just a lot that have 0 or 1. Deeply ignorant racist crap.

@UKLabour Pakistanis in the UK have 3.82 children on average. British people in the UK have 1.92 children on average. This child limit being lifted does nothing for British people, and only costs us British Taxpayers more money - which goes towards foreigners.

🗺️ If Iran can charge ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz — what stops everyone else? Ryan Grim and Murtaza Hussein on whether the U.S.-Iran war is ending the era of free global shipping and ushering in a world of maritime tolls, zones, and fiefdoms — an unraveling, Murtaza says, we haven’t seen since 1989. @ryangrim | @MazMHussain

So producing your own oil and gas does nothing for energy security. I see. If that’s true of Britain it must be true of other fossil fuel producers too. But of course it isn’t.
JB@DizzyJB

@afneil Benefits are tax revenue and jobs only. This will do nothing to improve energy security or bring bills down, when we remain dependent on the global market. Only investment in renewables will alleviate that dependency long term.

@nomoschoolforme @KayBurley I can sympathise to a point, but how many of these illegal wars must the US embark on before it becomes clear that the roll of the US military is to kill civilians in the middle east in pursuit of oil? They know what theyre doing and they chose that career.

@afneil We will pay the market rate for that oil though, which means it will be unaffordable for much of the UK population. Of course Andrew is a millionaire so he struggles to grasp this concept.

Your mind is clearly blown because you have no idea what you’re talking about. Let’s just take gas. All of it comes by pipeline into the UK and is used in the UK. Oil is a bit more complicated but I’ll let you grapple with the facts about gas before moving on to that. Let me know if you have any questions about gas. Happy to help.
Zoe Gardner@ZoeJardiniere

It is blowing my mind how many people don’t seem able to grasp that oil & gas in the North Sea is not “ours” but was sold off to private companies who will trade it on the international market like any other fuel. We don’t get any kind of privileged access to this fuel.
