I'm an American Imperialist by virtue of the fact I am a Civilizationalist, an American, a Nationalist, and a Realist. We have an Empire. Unless we are willing to surrender it to the Chinese Communist Party and plunge the world into widespread war and famine, the Empire must be maintained. We are the light in the darkness. Maintaining that Empire requires utilizing useful allies and destroying disruptive enemies. America and Israel are not BFFs. The idea that there's any religious connection between America and Israel is American Reformation drivel. Nation-states do not have friends; they have interests. We are two nation-states who happen to have very similar objectives and interests in the region—largely because of the fact we were both opposed to/by Iran. Our economy is based in the Middle East. Unless and until that changes, we're there to stay. If we're going to stay, then we need decent allies. The single reason I like having Israel as an ally is because they are extremely competent. Pound-for-pound, the IDF is the best military in the world; America just has a lot more pounds—that's our way. Their intelligence, targeteering, weaponeering, precision strike capability, its all just absolutely beautiful as a military man. Anyone who denies the efficacy of the IDF should be disregarded on all matters military. They are seriously a work of art in that arena. I completely understand people who get really annoyed with the fact it seems like you're not allowed to criticize Israel in most places or on most platforms. I think that's extremely stupid and needs to stop—if for no other reason than the fact that these policies generate more antisemites than they stop by probably a 20:1 ratio. I completely understand people who are sick of American politicians sucking up to Israel. Ted Cruz actually makes me want to throw up when he starts talking about having some duty to Israel. Anyone who attempts to clothe Israel in my Catholic Christian faith is immediately suspect to me as a likely enemy. But none of that changes the fact that our interests in the Middle East are deep, very hard (if not impossible) to remove, and that Israel is by a wide margin the most competent ally the United States has had since World War II. For those of y'all not really paying much attention—if we don't have Israel as our ally, we really don't have anybody. The GCC is militarily useless, Britain and Canada seem to actually be an enemy state at this point, the rest of Europe gobbles Russian balls/energy while simultaneously waging a proxy war against them, and Japan has no military. We may have other allies on paper, but in the field the vast majority of our allies are next to useless. There's a reason rival powers want the top two militaries in the world to be enemies and its not because they have an earnest desire to see America free of bankers and entertainment producers.

@Howlingmutant0 @jtalexander It’s been phenomenal. If anything, the success has been underreported. We’ve never had an ally as lethal as Israel before. Just shows us how useless all of our European allies have been all these years.

As I was just writing, most trends in entertainment are either downstream of (1) law, or (2) technology. This one was law and reminds me of another. Who remembers 'Punk'd?' Ashton Kutcher and friends would go around pranking people on camera, eventually they'd reveal the gag, everybody laughed, ha ha ha and all that. There's a reason they only targeted celebrities. Because *technically* they could've gotten sued in several different ways for each prank. They were originally filming pranks on just normal random people, until one turned out to have connections to a high powered law firm. The producers quickly started listening to the legal department. But the show was paid for, so they couldn't just do nothing. The solution was to target celebrities. Celebrities were far less likely to sue other celebrities and productions over something like this. Not because they're all friends and they all enjoyed the pranks (many did, I'm sure) but because the brand damage risk was significant. 'Simon Cowell sues Ashton Kutcher for intentional infliction of emotional distress over a replica of his car' doesn't make for great headlines. Celebrities also aren't as strapped for cash as random people on the street and thus are less likely to get into big lawsuits over petty harms. Thus, Punk'd became a show specifically about pranking celebrities rather than pranking random people, and this almost certainly led to its greater success and appeal to audiences.

In the 1980's, Canadian broadcaster Global found a loophole in Canadian broadcasting legislation. Instead of broadcasting test patterns on screen and losing out on overnight revenue, they could send a cameraman into the city to walk around and film the streets of Toronto. Global producers decided to create their own original music to accompany the show instead of losing out on licensing fees. Because the show was entirely "Canadian Content", this allowed Global to leave key primetime slots open to broadcast American content. The show was called Night Walk. Although Night Walk was created to exploit a loophole, the footage that was left behind now looks like a time capsule.

@oklahomaisokay @FrenlyOfficer @wil_da_beast630 For these particular 15, the bigger issue was that we couldn't get them held on bail because "its just property crime." Since they were out on the streets, they'd commit more crime, pick up more cases, get released again, so on and so forth until they had 15 open felonies.

@wil_da_beast630 When I was a prosecutor, I took a census of our office's caseload and found 15 individuals accounted for 50% of our entire city's property crime. This was the largest city in our state with one of the highest property crime rates in the nation. Fifteen people.

understand that this is a very rare breed of redditor believed to be extinct since the mid-2000s. this footage is the equivalent of the accidental rediscovery of the Wondiwoi Tree Kangaroo in 2018. we now have evidence of a living individual and new hope that there may be more

Most trends in entertainment are downstream of either (1) law, or (2) technology. This one was technology. It was early into 3D spaces in games. The previous generation's 3D were largely contained spaces with small color variations. At this point in the early 2000s, they were able to render large 3D spaces with pleasing color palettes, but the technology wasn't there for these spaces to be terribly well populated by either people or polygons. Beaches are one of the natural environments of the world that satisfy this limitation IRL. Wide open spaces with little need for population. Thus, lots of a beaches in this era. Also, humans just like the beach.
Maverick@BottomGroyper

Why did so many early 2000s games have a tropical beach aesthetic?

@JTAlexander I have a woman friend who talks about trying to set me up with someone and what her criteria would be for me. She always stresses that she’d only suggest women who were setup in a stable career I’ve given up trying to explain how little that means to me. She can’t understand

🚨Newly unsealed search warrant affidavits provide additional detail in the case against Tyler Robinson. According to court documents, Robinson wrote a letter to Lance Twiggs. In addition to the letter Investigators also cite messages allegedly connected to Robinson after the shooting. In a Discord group, one message read: “Tyler killed Charlie!!!!” Another message states: “Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. I’m sorry for all this. I’m surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments. Thanks for all the good times and laughs, you’ve all been so amazing. Thank you all for everything.” Additional messages between Robinson and Twiggs include: “I have no intention of being drug through the courts in front of the country,” “How long have you been planning this?” “A bit over a week I believe,” “Why did I do it?” “I had enough of this hatred, Some hate can’t be negotiated out.” Search warrants outline the evidence collected by investigators. At Robinson’s residence, authorities recovered a “burnt note found in trash.” Digital evidence includes cellphone location data placing him near the scene on Sept. 10, 2025, as well as a Google Maps route on his phone leading toward the university. Physical evidence cited in the warrants includes “fingerprints and a smeared palm print in the vicinity of the northeast corner rooftop edge of the Losee Center building where Robinson dropped off the rooftop to the ground below” Court documents further allege that after the shooting, Robinson returned to Washington County, confessed to his father, and then turned himself in with the assistance of a retired deputy. 🚨Tyler Robinson wrote a handwritten letter to Lance Twiggs. "Luna, If you are reading this per my text, then I am so sorry. I left the house this morning on a mission, and set an auto text. I am likely dead, or facing a lengthy prison sentence. I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it. I don’t know if I will/have succeeded, but I had hoped to make it home to you. I wish we could have lived in a world where this did not feel necessary. I wish I could have stayed for you and lived our lives together. I lack the words to express how much I love you, and how very much you mean to me. Please try and find joy in this life. I love you, always, -Tyler." An affidavit for a search warrant outlined the letter.

@JTAlexander @skibidiquasar @wil_da_beast630 He made this stat up is why. The smallest city that is the biggest in its state has a population of 44,000 people. 15 people in a city with a population of at least 44,000 were not responsible for 50% of the property crime.
