@AAlexand23 @Y0den @madcap412 Speaking from experience I expect. It's ok, though, you don't have to project your own feelings about yourself at women you've never met.

@justcausality @Y0den @madcap412 And they hate themselves for looking that way, so instead of putting on the effort to change, they hate everything that doesn't align with them. Just like obese people who claim fatphobia is real. They'd rather die than being healthy and doing the bare minimum.

Gaming Journalists: "The games industry is in trouble! We need to do advanced math to save AAA studios!" Eh...ACTUALLY, only the WESTERN AAA industry is struggling Asian gaming is doing well We all know why, but you don't want to say it - Shift Up just upgraded from dev to publisher - NetEase is printing money with Marvel Rivals and Where Winds Meet - Capcom is dropping hit after hit - Pearl Abyss just delivered one of the most successful games of 2026 - Cygames, MiHoyo, Kuro games, NetEase, etc are all drowning in money with their waifu Gachas The HARD TRUTH is that China, Japan, and Korea are not as worried as the California gaming studios, and the reason is obvious But journalists don't want to address this because they lowkey want to push the California slop

Until there's a way to significantly reduce game development budgets or increase profitability margins, the future of AAA game dev is, unfortunately, fewer and less risky games.

@AAlexand23 @Y0den @madcap412 95% of female characters in video games are still attractive. Guys like you are so disingenuous when it comes to this topic. And, yeah, I wonder why. Actually, I don't. But it's definitely not for the reason you think. 🤣

@justcausality @Y0den @madcap412 And sorry but here comes a harsh reality. Making ugly characters, especially women, only hurts them. You just need to take a stroll outside and you'll mostly see average and attractive people. Curiously, those who tend to be uglier usually belong to an specific ideology

@AAlexand23 @Y0den @madcap412 That's just your confirmation bias showing. Plenty of games that you numbnuts would categorize as having 'woke' elements have been successful. Games that fail fail for multiple reasons. Attack you? 🤣Victim complex much?

@justcausality @Y0den @madcap412 Also, not to mention that the titles who fail are particularly aggressive towards their main consumer: heterosexual males. I don't mind political games, when done gracefully: Disco Elysium. But when a game constantly attacks you: Dustborne, for example, it gets old very fast.

@AAlexand23 @Y0den @madcap412 Yes, it sells because gooners. That's literally my point. Thank you for agreeing with me. Not all games are fantasy, and even when they are, fantasy can mean a lot of things. It doesn't have to be female characters looking like sex dolls. What is failing?

@justcausality @Y0den @madcap412 Gooner this, gooner that. Bro, sex sells, as simple as that. Also, games are supposed to be fantasy so we can ignore reality for a while: that being with Baki characters or attractive ones. Also, it's not that hard. They're failing 'cuz they're boring.

@iamfilipe @DanDawkins @HoegLaw Anyway, forget it. Engaging with you is pointless. You are not here to have a good faith discussion and you most likely have the emotional intelligence and the media literacy of a blueberry cone. Moving on!

@justcausality @DanDawkins @HoegLaw Yes, that was exactly the comparison. The point is that the story is a common one, told in countless different ways across various forms of media. There's nothing particularly unique or groundbreaking about it, it's a cliché narrative.

@RogueLikely @DanDawkins @HoegLaw Always trying to dumb down the story since you weren’t able to engage with it or understand it. As I said before, too much of an emotionally mature game for you. This is like speaking to children. No… to dumb children. 🤣

@justcausality @DanDawkins @HoegLaw "I just finished killed a hundred random people that I had no personal grudge against, but now in this moment I've decided that I won't kill the person that murdered my father figure in cold blood right in front of me." Start reading books with less colorful pictures in them.

@iamfilipe @DanDawkins @HoegLaw You just compared one of the most emotionally mature story in gaming history to a dumb, generic shonen for teenage boys. Well done. Also, you didn’t engage with anything I mentioned. Most likely because you didn’t even comprehend the story. Stick to children-level storytelling

@justcausality @DanDawkins @HoegLaw Just like Naruto and Sasuke's whole "breaking the cycle of hatred" storyline. That alone doesn't make it a masterpiece. Again, there's nothing particularly groundbreaking there. It's a fairly common story that people try to elevate into something more than it actually is.

@DanDawkins @HoegLaw You implied that you can only think it's a great story if you've never read a book or watched a movie. I used myself as an example of that being wrong. I'm not alone. There are millions of people who thought the same thing. I challenged you to explain that. Try again. :)

@Y0den @madcap412 Jesus. You have totally lost any semblance of ability to discern what is attractive and what isn't. The Last of Us has plenty of attractive characters. As I said, you want sex dolls. As for characters being altered, yeah some have been made to look more realistic.

@justcausality @madcap412 For the record, I think it’s completely fine to have unattractive characters, especially in a setting like The Last of Us. What people are pointing out, though, is a noticeable pattern where not only new characters but also existing ones being altered.

@Y0den @madcap412 It is. You don't want attractive characters, you want overly sexualized female characters. Most characters in Western games are still clocking as attractive. If you disagree with that, you're either blind or trolling.

@justcausality @madcap412 It’s not about “gooning” or having an explicit adult game. People enjoy watching or playing as attractive characters no matter the medium. Film, comics, trading cards, or video games it really doesn't matter.

@Garybjjca @Somniss @Fishpig003 @HoegLaw On the surface it seems silly, I know. However, once you go deep into why each side thinks the way they do, you realize there's not much backing up the haters' arguments. This is not "oh I like Pepsi over Coca-Cola because the taste is a little more sweet".

@Somniss @Fishpig003 @Garybjjca @HoegLaw I mean X is not the best place to explain to people like that why the story is so well made. Plus, most of them don't come in with an open mind. They want to dislike the game and the story.

@Somniss TLoU Part II should stand in as the Empire Strikes Back in a TLoU trilogy. :) The darkest iteration. I'm hoping that the third game will involve both Ellie and Abby again.

From a former hater of the *idea* of the game, of the unceremonious spoiler that was shared, the dishonest trailers (no, I haven't forgotten the bait-and-switch for making us believe that we'd play with Joel too), I hope we get a third one, and Sony doesn't close Naughty Dog.

Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada spoke about the contradictions of human nature: “Some people dream of having a swimming pool at home, while those who have one hardly ever use it. Those who have lost a loved one feel a profound sense of loss, while others often complain about their living relatives. Those without a partner long for one, while those who have one often don't appreciate it. The hungry would give anything for a meal, while the satiated complain about the taste of their food. Those without a car dream of owning one, while those who have a car are always looking for a better one.” The key to happiness is gratitude: truly seeing and appreciating what we already have, and understanding that somewhere, someone would give anything for what we take for granted.

@justcausality @FreundKami49387 @RawbertBeef @Batman_2020 You are NOT the decider of what her canonical age is, just because YOU FEEL like she looks 12, or sometimes 15-16 does not make her that. YOU HAVE NO POWER HERE. Your sad attempt to smear and cancel ShiftUp isn't going to work, just like it didn't work the first time.

@Wander4532 @FreundKami49387 @RawbertBeef @Batman_2020 Damn that's quite a mouthful there at the end. Did you pack up enough adjectives in there to reach your 'anti-woke' quota? 🤣 Are you even a real person? I don't care if ShiftUp is canceled or not. I just said their new protag looks like a child.

@justcausality @FreundKami49387 @RawbertBeef @Batman_2020 That really sums up how you think with your made up genders, orientations and sexualities. Which is why you attack games like Stellar Blade while you prop up shitty dead on arrival woke games like Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

@Wander4532 @FreundKami49387 @RawbertBeef @Batman_2020 Man, stop fighting against shadows when you're talking to me. I didn't complain about Eve's proportions. I was aware that she was a character made for gooners. Also, I don't know what age I'd give Evie. She looks different across the various shots. Sometimes 12, sometimes 15-16.

@justcausality @FreundKami49387 @RawbertBeef @Batman_2020 How can you look at Evie and immediately think she is 10 years old? Thats what YOU personally think, doesn't mean she is actually 10 years old. You idiots were whining about how Eve's proportions aren't accurate to how a real woman looks, its not about Evie's age or proportions.
