@RevivedThoughts If a life long Christian dies from a car accident while harboring hate for the guy who cut them off, do they go to heaven?
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles I’m convinced that Christ teaches one thing is necessary. And the remainder are evidence of that necessary transformation and the faith that propels it.
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles Can one lose their faith? And if they do the remainder justify? If one has nothing but a death bed faith are they justified?
I hope you know I’m sharpened by you and I hope to sharpen you too!
English

Student: "Do you know for sure where you will go when you die?"
@MichaelJKnowles: "I don't. I trust and I have hope in our Lord. I trust in Jesus"
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles So we take what was replace and add something new in its place faith plus works (but not the works of the laws given to Abraham which Jesus came to fulfill not abolish)?
English

@kaizenhacker @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles It seems you're trying to make this verse say more than it does. This just means anyone can become a descendant of abraham through faith, apart from adherance to jewish laws like circumcision, keeping kosher, or avoiding blended fabrics...the law jews would boast about.
English

@RobbBrunansky Charitable discourse always starts with accusations like this. No nuance allowed. Perfect knowledge and presumptive superiority. Check.
Give a thing a label. Then lambast the label.
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles So that the only thing we can boast in is our faith. Which is what I believe I’m endorsing here. Not that you do nothing good or right. But that you attribute it to the only one who is Good. Christ.
Mark 10:18 isn’t a rebuke. It’s a challenge. Who’s good? Point towards Him.
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles Yes. And it’s replaced by the law of faith which is what you referred to as natural law.
“Where then is boasting? It has been excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.”
Romans 3:27
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles “for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
Romans 3:26 NASB2020
We should certainly see justification by faith plus something else in context, right? Show me where!
English

@kaizenhacker @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles A misread of Ro 3:20 and a flattening of the language (Greek is polysemic) obscures the fullness of Paul's gospel. He doesn't teach faith alone or imputed righteousness.
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles And please please whatever you do don’t read more of Romans 3. Paul is making your point fully.
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles The faith is only effective if the righteousness we stand before God with is perfect. That’s Christ perfection. Substituted for my filth. A life redeemed works. But isn’t justified by their work but Jesus’. Finished. on. the. cross.
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles “For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; And all of us wither like a leaf, And our wrongdoings, like the wind, take us away.”
Isaiah 64:6
Faith is the source. Works are the proof. James 2:18
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles So which works do you do that are righteous and also not done in faith?
English

@kaizenhacker @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles Scripture doesn't teach justification by faith alone, that faith is the only thing that justifies, that justification is a one-time event, or that we're justified apart from obedience to the spirit of the law. So faith alone is false, as is imputed righteousness.
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles So which works do you do that make you justified?
“Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.””
John 6:29
English

@kaizenhacker @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles Righteousness isn't falsely imputed by God, it's falsely imputed to oneself through the legal fiction of faith alone.
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles Perhaps you could steel man the what specifically you mean by imputed versus what you believe I mean by imputed?
English

@ouroborosKXM @TPUSARapidRep @michaeljknowles It’s seems to me your are saying anyone who trust that Christ righteousness washes us is automatically not washed…which I don’t understand where you get to that judgment biblically? Imputed righteousness is just the washing of the believers who are regenerate.
