Rio de Janeiro’s mayor has banned queer singer Chappell Roan from performing at the “Todo Mundo no Rio” festival after a young fan was left crying. The decision comes after footballer Jorginho claimed his 11-year-old daughter was left “extremely shaken” and in tears after briefly smiling at the singer while passing her table. According to the allegation, the singer then had her security team reprimand the girl and her mother in an “extremely aggressive manner.” The mayor said: “She will never perform at Todo Mundo no Rio… I doubt Shakira would do that.”
