@AunDhrae @kadeen__ I haven't seen an example locally. Execution has always been our downfall. With time I believe we'll get there, I foresee a Port Royal Carnival in the future. We'll revisit this then. ✌🏾

@kinsoncase @kadeen__ Provide the example of the successful execution of something close to this plan locally. Then tell me how we scale that to the biggest one day event we have.

@keiranikole It's not about traffic really more the blocking of Key Arterial Roads. Which are really a handful in Kingston. So nuff nuff roads are there for revelry. Keep those roads moving, they'll have traffic no doubt but keep them flowing. Using them as carnival streets prevents that.

@BrayForJade I was more thinking about the least impact on essential services. I take your point re phrasing though. Key arterial routes/roads should not be used as carnival streets. There are ways for carnival to be hosted without these roads being used, so win win for everybody.

Carnival should be moved to Port Royal. I can never understand using major thoroughfares (core city routes) as carnival streets. Ppl have to go to work and about their business not everyone goes to carnival. It's a massive inconvenience esp for essential workers.

@kinsoncase Don’t worry. I’ve long held that the airport shouldn’t be out there anyway. Carnival routes change often so I wouldn’t be surprised if it changed again.

@DrewDaSimpleOne Definitely, I cancelled my plans yesterday. Those who are in the medical field don't have such luck though. Esp the ones helping out by picking up shifts so those who enjoy carnival can go. No issues with the event itself more the extent to which it coexists with everything else.

If you had angled this is a way to get revenue to the businesses & people of Port Royal, it may have gone over better. Still a bad idea, but at least it wouldn’t appear so pretentious lol

What I'm hearing is better planning...and if it's really causing inconvenience especially for essential workers then both side of the fence need to put measures in place but carnival nah go nowhere with its billion dollar price tag. REST children of God.

@kadeen__ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The economic activity would be good. Historically Port Royal is the city of revelry. I'm seeing a premium carnival march. Easy to control the entrance of individuals without armbands as pictured in the videos fighting etc. My two cents, good point tho.

My thoughts are you can’t move it without heavily watering down the experience. Countries with cities bigger than ours shut down for hours for events. It’s a couple hours on a Sunday .. you’ll survive.
Kinson Case@kinsoncase

@AunDhrae @kadeen__ There are multiple ways to mitigate the potential traffic nightmare you are expecting. Shuttle only access, park and ride in Kingston, staggered arrivals exits based on band purchase and level. All it needs is proper planning. What are your thoughts on these options?

Cliff reacts to Carnival revelers gyrating on police personnel on Sunday during road march activities across sections of the corporate area. What do you think about this practice? #CHOL
