I think in the 60s they figured out they didn't have the tech or capacity, and just made some movies instead. They thought they'd catch up, but eventually just stopped trying, build a funnel for cash and have been doing bare minimum for quite a few decades. Elon showed what good management and skill could have done. But NASA did none of it. #AuditNASA
