@ReallyAmerican1 @jamestalarico From what I have seen of his statements, James is an example of the failure of our education system

@xurbanxcowboyx This can't be serious. Boeing moved their headquarters from Seattle, moved some production to South Carolina, Amazon moved a lot of jobs to Bellevue-2nd hq in Arlington VA, Starbucks opening a 2nd hq in Nashville, retailers closing in Seattle due to shoplifting

3 people
Just 3 fucking people have almost $1,000,000,000,000 combined and we have people "debating" what someone can and can't buy with gov assistance.

SHOULD SNAP RECIPIENTS BE ABLE TO BUY ROTISSERIE CHICKEN This is an actual debate happening right now. A group of lawmakers has introduced legislation that would allow recipients to purchase hot rotisserie chickens with their benefits. Currently they are only able to buy cooked rotisserie chickens once they have been cooled down. Your Thoughts?

@TomSteyer Tom, are you going to force them into treatment or put them in jail if they do not go? Many will not go into a shelter because they can do their drugs on the street but not in a shelter.

@NYCMayor If you involve the govt, it will soon be an unsolvable equation.

At our city-owned grocery stores, staples like eggs and bread will actually be affordable.
And we're going to do it the right way, without cutting workers' pay or dignity.
Because in the wealthiest city in this country, buying groceries shouldn't be an unsolvable equation.
It should be simple, fair, and within reach for everyone.

@PattyMurray She does realize she is in the minority right? She can write a budget if she wants but it will not pass, may not even be brought to a vote

@Newsweek Interesting what is missing from the article. Mentions total percentage, percentage of independents, and percentage of Republicans. No mention of percentages of Dems. I guess they didn't want to show how political it is

@maura_resister So verifying a a few hundred thousand signatures on a petition is the same as verifying millions? The signatures just get the issue on the ballot.

If retard @TomSteyer is elected gas will be 50 bucks a gallon. I said what I said.

I've spent the past 15 years taking on Big Oil and corporate interests. When I'm governor, if you pollute in California, you're going to pay.

@TCSWashington They refused to put in provisions that would limit it to millionaires. They can change it any time

A Washington Democrat who voted for the new income tax is now questioning part of the process.
Rep. Larry Springer says bypassing a public vote deserves scrutiny, and warns there’s “never going to be a guarantee” the tax stays limited to millionaires.
He also flagged concerns about how the policy could hit small businesses.

@Dlstoke Look at the federal debt numbers during Clinton's term. Up every year. If there was an actual surplus or balanced budget it would have gone down or stayed the same.

English

How did Republicans manage to pull this myth off for so many years after Bill Clinton was the first president in a generation to balance the budget and leave a surplus?

A friend of mine from college days just bought a house in Katy last year.
Makes $200K/year in Texas. Wife and kid.
Called me last week like "bro, the economy is actually cooked."
I laughed.
"you make $200K, man. what you crying about"
He then showed me the math...
$200K in Texas = $12,800/month take-home
> $2,510 mortgage
> $620 property taxes (Texas will bleed you quietly)
> $350 homeowners insurance
> $150 HOA (for a gate, a pond, and a newsletter nobody reads)
> $1,800 health insurance for the family
> $1,000 daycare for ONE kid
> $1,050 groceries
> $500 car note
> $220 car insurance
> $350 utilities
> $375 home maintenance
Total: $8,925
He's left with $3,875.
Then, he still has student loans, date nights and holidays sitting on the side.
A decade ago…
A quarter of that salary is what somebody needed to buy that same house and raise that same family.
Now $200,000 a year and you're still watching your account like something is wrong.
The economy is really cooked for 9-5ers
