Not seized. Followed. The Admiral Grigorovich, a missile-armed Black Sea fleet frigate, sailed between two sanctioned Russian vessels carrying oil that funds the war Starmer claims to oppose with every fibre of his being. Since his threat was made, more than three hundred shadow fleet ships have passed through British waters. Britain has seized none of them. France has intercepted tankers in the Mediterranean. The United States seized one in January. Britain follows behind and issues statements. The timing could not be more perfectly chosen by Putin. Starmer was in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, being photographed with regional allies and visiting British troops, in what Labour sources told the Telegraph was a deliberate attempt to recast him as a global statesman ahead of next month's local elections. While he was performing statesmanship in Riyadh, a Russian warship was performing something rather different in the Channel. The contrast requires no commentary. A Prime Minister who cannot enforce his own sanctions in his own waters, whose only deployable destroyer breaks down, whose defence plan exists only as a promise, and who chooses to be photographed in Saudi Arabia on the day Russia sails an armed warship past Dover, has not merely failed on defence. He has advertised the failure to every adversary watching. And they are all watching. They have been watching for six weeks. The Channel proved today that they have drawn their conclusions. I have just spoken with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. I expressed France’s full solidarity in the face of the indiscriminate strikes carried out by Israel in Lebanon today, which resulted in a very high number of civilian casualties. We condemn these strikes in the strongest possible terms. They pose a direct threat to the sustainability of the ceasefire that has just been reached. Lebanon must be fully covered by it. I reiterated the need to preserve Lebanon’s territorial integrity and France’s determination to support the efforts of the Lebanese authorities to uphold the country’s sovereignty and implement the Hezbollah disarmament plan.

Instead of being referred directly to a specialist when your GP thinks it’s needed, now your doctor will have to email a specialist and you have to wait for them to email back their view. Once your GP gets the email back, they either need to call you in for another appointment, or provide that specialist's assessment to you by letter. Then you will need to wait and see whether that advice (given without seeing you in person) works for a period of time, before then going back to your GP again, and asking again to be referred to a specialist if you are still suffering with the health issue. The result? Longer waiting times for specialist care, while specialists spend more time writing emails than actually seeing patients and using their expertise. On paper, waiting lists will therefore look significantly shorter, but only because fewer people ever make it onto them. You are not on a waiting list while the GP is waiting for the specialist to send their advice (without seeing you). You are only on a waiting list when, and if, you then request later to be seen by the Specialist, once you've gone through all of the process above. ⁠So all of this means the Government can announce they've cut waiting lists massively, but what is actually means is longer waiting times for specialist care for all of us as patients, and specialists spend their time writing emails not seeing patients.

President Trump is a geopolitical genius, but members of his administration must wake up and realize you can never trust the word of Iranian terrorists! We are not going to lose the midterms because President Trump wants to drop bombs on our enemies, we are going to lose the midterms because spineless GOP officials refuse to codify his agenda and allow him to do what needs to be done. It’s in the US’s best interest for Islamic terrorists to be wiped off the map!
