16 years ago today (4/5/10) 2010 NCAA Tournament National Championship game in Lucas Oil Stadium: Butler vs Duke The Gordon Hayward half court heave… Butler was just inches away from a title. But Duke came out on top, 61-59 Still hurts. But man, what a ride #DawgsOnly

prediction markets idea: a habit tracking app where you bet on yourself you commit to going to the gym 4 times this week and put $20 behind it your friends verify through location check-ins or photo proof if you hit it, you get your $20 back plus a cut from the pool of people who bet against themselves and failed prediction markets for personal accountability the mechanic works for studying, diet, screen time, sleep and anything with a verifiable outcome the app makes money from the people who consistently overestimate their discipline.

@thenarrator I have been in love with this idea for a long time. The stakes motivate me, if nothing else.

Makes sense. I wonder if you could use a telescope to get the best of both worlds. Would look very sci fi as well. Thanks for the detailed reply. I know in the CSAT world a 5/10 is considered a fail, but I don't really mean it like that, I just see a lot of room for improvement, and a 8,9,10 feels disingenuous. Onward!

This is gr8 feedback. On #2, we were really slow in December as we were optimize for thoroughness and efficacy, since then both path planning and speed has improved by 30% - have you noticed it? We're still going to improve it by 30%. #3 that's good feedback. We do have creating even quieter mode and slower movement for night time cleaning. Hopefully we can solve it here. #1, honestly, that's the trade-off with intelligence. What makes a great robot is the higher, crawling human child like vantage point vs. ant-like flat vantage point. That low vantage point is why disc robots still struggle with obstacles after 25 years in the market. Hence, it's a choice we made and prioritized NOT getting stuck as primary benefit (clean water it can access w/o getting stuck). In addition, ***Disc robots struggle with thresholds or shag rugs or thick pile rugs -- for that big wheels of matic help. ***Actuated cleaning head adjusts to different thickness of the rugs and dynamically changes suction/brush roll speed to clean rugs that even manual vacuums cannot clean. ***Designed to deal with pet hair in a way that it doesn't get clogged and don't have to flip the robot and cut hair - so easily accessible brush roll. ***Cleaning head is littler over 2" tall so it can easily fit under space below kitchen cabines and visible dirt under the couches and furniture. Those don't get dirty as frequently as visible area. ***as mentioned above, higher vantage point of cameras (instead ant-like vantage point of disc robots) allows us to see floors the same way we do at 45 degree angle -- this means it can truly see what obstacles are and avoid it. No more wire chewing. ***lastly, just like the bottom of the cars get dirtier faster, flat robot sensors get dirtier much faster too, and then they make all kinds of mistakes. Normal experience is that they do great for first 1-2 months and then start to struggle due to sensors getting covered. Higher camera position allows robot to see like humans at 45 degree angle to the floor and doesn’t get dirty.
