@hutchinson Parliamentary system would mean the center-left party would never be president again. Because the center-right party can bully the far-right to vote for them better than the center-left can bully the far-left. The Hasan splinter party would be way bigger than The Fuentes one.

I also think a lot of the dysfunctional problems and communication breakdowns would go away if we had a parliamentary system and the left flank had their own political party. The Democratic Party is their only option and I genuinely understand their resentment about that.

The 2016 presidential primaries did permanent damage to political discourse. It’s hard to reason with people who wrongly believe in their bones that their guy was going to win, but evil forces intervened and stopped that from happening. It’s not true. Millions believe it 🤷🏼‍♂️

You can choose to divulge whatever information you wish whenever you wish. But if we're talking about something that is a potential dealbreaker, I think it's good practice to frontload it. Because why waste time on an endeavor that's inherently doomed to failure? If they are not open to dating a trans person, then why wait until a date has already happened to divulge that? It only represents a waste of both of your time. Plus, if you divulge your trans status initially, and that's a dealbreaker for them, then that's no issue for either of you. Neither one of you wasted any time or energy. Whereas If you wait until you feel like you might have a connection with them to divulge your status, and it's a dealbreaker for them then, it might actually cause some hurt for both of you. So, I agree with you that trans people don't have to divulge their status in advance, but I think that doing so is a wise practice.
