A little under a decade ago, I met Ruda Landman. She interviewed me for her podcast, “Ruda Talks Change,” a series created by BrightRock. They have revived the series in 2026 and asked if I would sit down with Ruda again. “Absolutely” was my answer. My assistant was a little less excited. “Do you know who she is!!! She was on Carte Blanche!!! And she is an investigative reporter.” I giggled. Ruda is really lovely. I watched the original interview this morning. I was so little. So young. And the conversation was so… sweet. Towards the end of the interview, Ruda asked what my dreams were. I replied that I wanted to create a version of News24 that only reported on Good Things. Like, not News24 but as big as them. A place that people could visit to get news that gave them hope. Or made them proud. Or just happy. At the time, it was just words I was saying. Never in my life did I believe that the “thing” I was doing would become South Africa’s top good news site. I drove to the studio thinking about how my life has changed since we last sat down. And how I am so incredibly grateful. Good grief. What a life I have lived. What a life I get to live. This time, the conversation was very different. It was incredibly candid. Grounded. And so flipping raw. At one point, both Ruda and I had tears. It’s a funny thing to look back at a life. And how far we have come. I think more of us should do it. It gives perspective. It also made me very excited for what’s still to come. I just sat down for a second interview with Ruda Landman. Whose bladdy life is this? Okay. Love you. Bye.

I am not a fan of the man, and the guilty verdict was correct, but direct imprisonment is not what is needed here, and it has implications for our nation as well. I trust that the appeal will correct this
