What I’m saying is this league applies rules differently in very similar (critical) situations and can’t figure out how to officiate its own game with its own set rules. The inconsistency is ridiculous.

Jarry's skate doesn't extend the width of the goal line. Anyone with working eyes can see that puck completely crossed.

According to Dave, the initial call on the ice is irrelevant to the review ruling.

@ESPNRefNHL @nateb2399 @JesseGranger_ How is it any different than a puck in a glove and you can’t see the whole puck? If the officials ruled “no goal” on the play, is the video enough to overturn it? Where do you draw the line with how much puck is visible enough to count it? That’s why video evidence matters.

What has changed since every goal that has ever been disallowed after called a goal because replay doesn’t show indisputable evidence? Even offsides challenges don’t use common sense if views are obstructed.

Years ago, the league insisted you can’t assume the puck completely crossed the line. You’ve got to see it. But common sense says this is a goal, so unless they had another view, they either went with the ref or went with common sense
