Even cardinals are pushing for silence. "No one has the right to criticize the Pope"- Cardinal Müller. Thoughts?

Bill Gates: “In order to achieve Net Zero, aggressive carbon taxes need to be imposed on first world countries.” By whom would these “aggressive carbon taxes” be “imposed on” us? Regardless of the answer, this must never happen. Share if you agree.

@EndWokeness This is an example of how words have stopped meaning anything to a Leftist and they are free to just anything they want without any relationship to reality

Wow. The Pope was just asked his stance on migration. His answer is amazing: “I would change the question: what is the global North doing to help the global South in its situation that forces them to migrate.”

@cc37876 @TheWorthyHouse And I have a hard time with people who refuse to the death knell of culture every time a government creates another bureaucratic position. We all have our crosses to bear

@libenterdiscere @TheWorthyHouse i'm sorry, but i just have a hard time believing there's a magic jewish zombie sitting in the clouds with his dad, after his successful suicide mission, who's making a list and checking it twice. seems childish and ridiculous

Tiresome. This reads like an attack on abortion, but the Pope's reply tweet then only attacks capital punishment. No serious Christian can argue that the death penalty is inherently wrong. All arguments against it are just preening attempts to inject leftism into theology.
Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex

The Catholic Church has consistently taught that each human life, from the moment of conception until natural death, is sacred and deserves to be protected. Indeed, the right to life is the very foundation of every other human right. For this reason, only when a society safeguards the sanctity of human life will it flourish and prosper.

@libenterdiscere @TheWorthyHouse religion is just arrogance, parading as humility. for the love of christ, there are 8 billion people on the planet, a third of them starving to death, and you think 'god' is zeroing in on "saving someone's soul"? meaningless, self-important slop

Men can take nothing from God; He is infinite and his ways are not known to us. It is more likely that knowing execution is near will inspire repentance. As Samuel Johnson said, “Depend upon it, sir, when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully.”

@libenterdiscere @GiancarloSopo I know that. I’m asking, if the 1990 tax hikes didn’t happen, would S&Ls have been bailed out/backstopped just like Japan did to their banks and it ended up causing deflation and zombie financial institutions in the 90s?

A Bush 41 reelection in 1992 might be the most underrated counterfactual in modern American politics. Walk me through the 90s and 2000s.
