@TrackOilPACs I offered @NateForUtah $100 if he could provide data justifying his assault weapons ban in Utah. He must not need money that bad since he hasn't provided it. I guess billionaire Bloomberg's PAC (Mom's demand action) is paying him well.

We are proud to endorse @NateForUtah for #UT01! ☀️ A tireless champion for working families, Nate is fighting to end Big Oil’s grip on our political system, accelerate the clean energy transition, and hold AI data centers accountable for their environmental impact and driving up our electricity bills.

Utah is at a tipping point. The Great Salt Lake is shrinking, AI data centers are expanding, and public lands are on the line. The choices we make right now are pivotal. The other candidates in this race don't want you to look at their records. Time and time again, @BenMcAdams has taken money from big oil donors and been the only Democrat to vote against common sense environmental regulation. As we see the threat of big data centers emerging, this deep blue district is an opportunity to send a real environmental champion to Congress, not someone who will sell out our public lands for a quick buck.

@NateForUtah Hi Nate! I see you still haven't responded to my offer, which is still open. I will donate $100 to you if you can show me any data that suggests assault weapons are such a problem in Utah, that your proposed statewide assault weapons ban is necessary.

Utah has seen proposed legislation to enact safe storage laws defeated each year I served in the Senate. In Congress, I look forward to cosponsoring Ethan's Law and to continue advocating for policies like keeping guns out of college dorm rooms.

Thank you @Rep_Whitesides for cosponsoring H.R.1564! We urge Members of Congress to #KeepKidsSafe by cosponsoring Ethan’s Law. Congressional Switchboard: (202) 224-3121 #KeepKidsSafe #SafeStorageSavesLives #EndGunViolence

@bikelakecity And I'm forced to pay school taxes whether I have kids or not. 75% of commuters drive. 1% bike. Which group deserves priority and subsidization? And bike lanes are subject to wear from the weather too.

@maewtt What you’re failing to grasp is the relative subsidization. We spend pennies on bike lanes that never wear down because bikes don’t damage roads. Meanwhile everyone, whether they drive or not, is forced to divert billions of sales tax dollars fixing the damage of drivers

Cox continues to demonstrate that he views cycling purely through a recreational lens. The biggest bang for our buck is to build safe cycling facilities on and around the Wasatch Front's highways, but Cox prefers to push vanity projects in the far reaches of the state #slc
Governor Cox@GovCox

Utah’s trails connect us to each other and to the places we love. Today in Moab, we broke ground on a new section of the Utah Trail Network, taking another step toward a statewide system that will connect communities, support local businesses, and help more people enjoy Utah responsibly. This is a long-term commitment to keep building connections across the state, and we are just getting started.

@bikelakecity The vast majority of commuters are drivers. It makes sense a lot of tax dollars are spent on them. Just like I pay school taxes even though I don't have any children. Welcome to society

@wndyW1LL0w Most temples outside of Utah are too small for this trend. It would take like, 5 seconds to get to the other side of the building.

@tc91585 @stackerco Disclaimers at the beginning of news stories often state that they aren't affiliated with who/what they cover are also common. And there is legal precedent for this. Look up the "hurried consumer" test. John Dehlin fails it.

@maewtt @stackerco Right, in the one case of crime podcasts. They aren't common at all in opinion based media This is like saying ESPN needs to specify they are separate from the NFL in order to share NFL opinions because they "aren't affiliated" There is practically no legal precedent for this

@tc91585 @stackerco Disclaimers at the beginning of each episode are extremely common. Take pretty much any podcast or YouTube channel about crime as an example. Each episode starts with something like "all suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law"

@maewtt @stackerco Have you ever read a disclaimer? 99.99% of disclaimers are intentionally hidden in fine print. Having it at the bottom of the website is plenty sufficient. I've never seen a single episode of anything where the disclaimer is at the beginning of an episode.

@NateForUtah I like how the state expanded people's rights to have ADU's. A larger supply of rentals helps keep rent low, it allows homeowners to have assistance paying off their mortgage or other bills, and people should be able to do what they want with their property.

@NateForUtah If we increased funding, what specifically would the money be spent on and what data supports that it would improve outcomes? Places like Baltimore and California spend more than 3 times as much per student as we do, but their outcomes are far worse than Utah's.

In Utah, a state that has chronically underfunded public education, it shouldn't be a surprise that economically disadvantaged communities that are more diverse than the rest of the state are struggling to educate kids, particularly with the dismantling of the DOE. It's time to reinvest in public education and make our schools the envy of the world again. No more school vouchers. Stop bombing schools overseas and invest in them here in America. sltrib.com/news/education…

Utah Rec Centers need to add a rule that if someone's kid poops outside of the toilet and they don't clean it up, both the kid and the parent(s) get a lifetime ban.

While our leaders take in millions of dollars from the gun lobby, firearms remain the single largest cause of death for children in this country. I'm proud of my F grade from the NRA, and I'm proud to be marked a Gun Sense Candidate by Moms Demand Action. In the State Senate I proposed legislation for an assault weapons ban, and I'll do the same in Congress. We cannot allow firearm companies to dictate our politics or be held unregulated and unaccountable for the harm they cause.

I am disappointed by Nate Blouin's past comments, and concerned that the reaction we are having on decade and a half old posts will harm our ability to elect young people, or people raised on the internet. People progress, a progressive party needs to allow that.

I think IVF is a miracle of technology that allows many couples to have children that otherwise could not. At the same time, the fact that "left over" or "extra" embryos (that are multi-day gestated) are discarded is a hard issue for me. What are your thoughts? Would love to know more perspectives on this.

My response to an article you may have seen today: There's no excuse for these posts -- they're vulgar, stupid, and reflect a version of me in my early twenties that I’m ashamed of and have thankfully evolved past. When a reporter sent me these posts, I was horrified to see my use of language toward women and about a faith that my family, friends, and millions of Utahns practice. I won’t minimize what I wrote, and I believe every candidate forced to look at their old online activity should take full accountability for the person they once were behind their computer screen. To the people I hurt with my words, I sincerely apologize. All I can say is I’ve spent the past decade of my life trying to become someone worth trusting -- as a neighbor, as an advocate, and now as a public servant -- to fight for working families, for health care, for the dignity of every person in this district. I will keep showing up every day as the person I've worked to become. That is my promise to you.
