I had a call with the Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas @araghchi . We discussed the situation in Iran and the spiralling escalation in the Middle East. Diplomatic solutions and de-escalation are urgently needed. I emphasized the need to end the strikes on neighbouring countries and restore freedom of navigation in the Strait Hormuz especially regarding the humanitarian aspect of global food security with a focus on fertilizers and other essential goods. Regarding the Iranian nuclear program Austria supports any diplomatic way forward that leads to a new agreement and full cooperation with the @iaeaorg . In times like this it is important to maintain dialogue.

The Government of the Republic of Indonesia expresses grave concern over the explosion on 3 April 2026 in El Addaiseh, southern Lebanon, which injured three Indonesian peacekeepers serving with UNIFIL. This marks the third serious incident involving Indonesian peacekeepers in less than a week. Repeated attacks or incidents of this nature are utterly unacceptable. Regardless of their immediate cause, they underscore the urgent need to strengthen the protection of UN peacekeepers in an increasingly dangerous environment. Indonesia calls on the United Nations Security Council to address this matter urgently, and on UNIFIL troop- and police-contributing countries to convene a meeting immediately to review and strengthen force protection measures. Indonesia further calls for an immediate, thorough, and transparent investigation to establish the facts, including the circumstances and those responsible, and stresses that full accountability must follow. This incident occurred amid Israel’s ongoing incursion into Lebanon. Israel’s continuing military operations in southern Lebanon, including stated intentions to maintain a presence, risk further destabilizing the situation and placing United Nations peacekeepers in sustained danger. Indonesia reiterates that the safety and security of UN peacekeepers is non-negotiable. Any harm to peacekeepers constitutes a serious violation of international law and must not go unanswered. Indonesia wishes the injured personnel a full and swift recovery and stands in solidarity with them and their families.

中東情勢に伴い供給が制約を受ける可能性がある重要物資の安定確保のための高市内閣の取組の現状について、説明致します。 まず、原油と石油製品については、先月11日、他国に先駆け官民あわせて約45日分の石油備蓄の放出を決め、過去最大規模のＩＥＡによる国際協調備蓄放出を積極的に主導しました。 また、原油の代替調達については、ホルムズ海峡の代替ルートによる調達を進め、供給余力に優れる中東や米国、過去調達実績があり増産余力のある中央アジアや中南米、カナダやシンガポールなど石油製品の供給国も含め、経済産業省が民間事業者と連携しながら、精力的に協議を進めています。 先月28日には、事態発生後、ホルムズ海峡を通らないタンカーが、初めて日本に到着しました。近く、中東を出発したタンカーが更に日本に到着します。 日本には、約８か月分の石油備蓄があり、加えて代替調達も着実に進んでいます。 「日本全体として必要となる量」は確保されています。 他方、一部で「供給の偏り」や「流通の目詰まり」が生じていることから、その対策を強化しました。 例えば、医療関係や公共交通機関などの重要施設については、普段に燃料を調達している燃料販売店から調達できないようなケースでは、優先順位を判断の上、石油元売事業者に対して直接販売を行うよう、政府から要請しています。 また、普段契約している燃料販売店から必要な量が確保できなくなったという切実なお声に対応するため、大手石油元売事業者に対して、系列事業者かどうかに関わらず、「前年同月比同量」を基本として販売するように要請しています。 こうした取組により、例えば、栃木県の下水処理場の雨水排水ポンプ用のＡ重油不足に対して石油元売事業者からの４月分の供給を実現しました。 また、Ａ重油の調達にお困りの豆腐事業者の方に石油元売事業者からの直販を実現し、工場停止を回避しました。 さらに、病院向けのリネンシーツを扱うクリーニング事業者や医療用Ｘ線フィルム生産者といった方々にも、いただいた情報に一件一件対応し、重油をお届けすることができました。 エネルギー源以外の「重要物資」の安定供給確保にも取り組んでいます。 ナフサ由来の化学製品、医療関連物資、食品包装用容器、ごみ袋、半導体関連物資など、物資ごとに、製造メーカーが継続供給可能な期間を調査し把握しています。 その上で、需要側や販売店の在庫の活用、国内外での製造拡大・継続、などの対応策を速やかに講じています。 現在のところ、直ちに供給途絶が起こる事例はありません。 特に医療については、厚生労働大臣及び経済産業大臣を本部長とする「中東情勢の影響を受ける医薬品、医療機器、医療物資等の確保対策本部」を先月末に設置し、対応を進めています。 例えば、未熟児の栄養補給に必須の「小児用カテーテル」の滅菌に必要なＡ重油や、その他の医療機器の滅菌に必要な「酸化エチレンガス」については、流通段階での「目詰まり」を解消しました。 繰り返しになりますが、原油及び石油製品の「日本全体として必要な量」は確保されています。 そして、アジア諸国で原油から加工された形で供給される医療関係を含む重要物資についても、直ちに供給途絶が生じることはありません。 石油由来の燃料や関連製品の調達についてお困りの場合は、 経済産業省（中東情勢を踏まえた石油及び関連製品等に関する対応｜資源エネルギー庁）（enecho.meti.go.jp/category/other…）まで、 石油製品を原料とする医療関係物資の調達に不安をお感じの方は、 厚生労働省（中東情勢関連対策ワンストップポータル｜厚生労働省）（mhlw.go.jp/stf/chuto-jose…）まで、情報提供をお願いいたします。 高市内閣の総力を挙げて、きめ細かく対応してまいります！
