@Bravo_Enigma @CR1337 Whonix is a VM you run within your existing OS install. It's more secure against attacks as Tails OS.

@markpeeters83 @CR1337 Never used it. From what I can read the differences are Whonix is designed to be a regular OS. While it may be hardened against attack Tails is designed to be a temporary solution and thus it is a more secure option. Again, I've never used Whonix.

The future lies in the darknet, as the clearnet is already being fully monitored. It has a reason that the darknet is always described as dystopian criminal hell hole by the mass media; and while this part obviously exists, there are lots of useful resources and legit use cases. If you are new to Tor & the darknet, here a quick list with things to keep in mind: 1. Download Tor Browser ONLY from torproject[.]org + verify signature 2. Never log into Gmail/Facebook/Discord/etc. while on Tor 3. Don’t resize or maximize the window (fingerprinting) 4. No extensions, no plugins, ever 5. Keep JavaScript on “Safer” unless the site is ultra-sketchy, then “Safest” 6. Use Tails OS or Whonix VM if you’re doing anything 'serious' 7. Never download & open files outside Tor Browser 8. Treat every .onion link like it wants to steal your soul (use Dark[.]fail, tor[.]taxi, or Ahmia, a .onion search engine) 9. No real names, photos, or info; ever! 10. Monero > Bitcoin. @CR1337 I definitely agree with using Tails Linux. Using a "secure" browser on your personal OS is risky, even if it is securely designed. Tails starts fresh every time you use it. It routes all traffic by default through TOR. All you need is a USB flashdrive and a little time.

If the average person had to go through the "justice system" just once, there would be a revolution. I tell people that they should just go to a courthouse and watch the proceedings and see for themselves how corrupt and incompetent our police, our prosecutors, and our judges and juries are.

The moderation on this platform is a joke. We constantly catch violations and suspensions for absolutely nothing meanwhile there are multiple death and rape threats against myself and my family still up. @MG5thAve @channelramblr I like to keep my hardware in working order since I try to take care of it. I have laptops from the early 2000s that still work. Nevertheless I'll get a Macbook Neo soon just to try it out a bit, never had a Macbook before.

@CryptidBnnuy @LuftkoppTim Get an ARM Chromebook with something like the Kompanio Ultra 910 or a Windows laptop with a Snapdragon X2 Elite. They blow the Neo's A18 Pro out of the water.

- Plastic case that has a much higher potential of breaking and awful rigidity - 16GB is more on paper but thanks to MicroSlop and "AI" literally in the name means you actually get this AI slop forced onto you, it isn't. - screen is terribly washed out - screen also only achieves 300 nits and lower res - Acer included an assistant called "DocChat" which sounds way too close to Dogshit to be a coincidence - according to tests it has a really annoying fan noise (Neo is silent) - MicroSlop - MicroSlop Windows - MicroSlop CoPilot This thing is shit. Just get a Neo.

@Keyzro_ @app_settings They should have went with the A19 Pro chip which has 12 GB of RAM. It's something they cobbled together from the used parts bin for a quick cash grab. I would be way less critical if they at least made the storage replaceable. SSD's are expendable.

@markpeeters83 @app_settings Their was no way they where able to have more than 8 gigabytes of ram it was using chips form a iPhone Pro that where designed and built with the ram on top of the chip.

so MacBook Neo has: - an aluminium unibody - a liquid retina display - a very powerful chip - macOS (no edge or copliot or ads, lmao) - pretty colors - full access to the Apple ecosystem AND is very repairable. all for $499. yeah uh… RIP budget windows laptops lol

@wisplite @CryptidBnnuy @LuftkoppTim The problem is that Mac OS itself already uses 6 GB. A few Chrome tabs or electron apps and you're easily surpassing 8 GB which will make the machine swap.

@CryptidBnnuy @markpeeters83 @LuftkoppTim It really depends on what you plan to use the laptop for. The Neo is fine as long as you don't expect to use more than 8GB of RAM.
