In 16 years as an ER doctor, I’ve never once heard anyone use the term ‘intubated ventilator’.
And no one I know died in a spaceship. Or a vacuum.
They died in overloaded hospitals, where staff were falling ill.

I tried telling people this! When I talked to doctors in Wuhan after the first wave hit China, their top recommendation was to avoid using intubated ventilators for extended periods at 100% O2, as it damages the lungs. nhlbi.nih.gov/health/ventila…. I got the “you’re not a doctor” bullshit from utter idiots in response. Yeah, I’m not a fucking doctor, but I do oversee the design of spaceships with life support systems that keep astronauts alive and healthy in a goddam vacuum!

It will never not be funny when a PR firm does a full court press about how eager a VC is to meet... and then their admin gets involved, and they come back offering a 17 minute meeting at the investor's lobby, or their doctor's office waiting room, in 6 to 9 months

Per WSJ: “It’s official: CDC now says Covid is the flu.”
Can it be that we shut the world down creating incalculable damage to our economy and kids, and trampled on individual rights over a flu? Or is it that a small band of people went to extremes to cover up their Frankenstein research that escaped from a lab?
If it’s the latter, I’m glad it only turned out to be a flu. But the next time we may not be so fortunate and those people should be held accountable.
