@faustocoppi60 It will cause the sort of problems you would care about if it’s your bike and you have to clean it/ ride it again the next day. But for a one off race then should be fine.

@InsideOut2912 Sorry but I don't think it matters. He's just not as consistent/ good as he used to be, age catching up and takes him a few months to get the motors running. Similar to Thomas towards this age. Was poor elsewhere but turned up for the big ones.

Complex situation. Main issue was likely processing childhood trauma in his mid twenties majorly damaged him mentally. On top of that lost progression, lack of motivation when he’s not working at the very top anymore. Also worth noting that he was getting goals and assists in a team which was banging the goals in under Poch. Hard to replicate that with a system which suits his skill set.

I’ve always wondered, with players like Dele, why they can’t get back to a decent level? It’s it just mental? Or once you’re out of the game for so long is it just impossible to get back to that physical level? What do you think the biggest road block is?

Yeh this also the European model is doing this already and still sits second fiddle to the NBA despite much stronger basketball culture in many European countries. Problem with Britain is we already love so many sports. Only country in the world which (regularly) sells out events for Football, Cricket, both Rugbys, F1, tennis, golf. Not to mention the likes of darts and snooker (not so much these days)

Franchises won’t be affiliated with football clubs for this reason. There will be 2 NBA Europe teams here: London & Manchester. Aligning them with Man City and Arsenal (for example) alienates the majority of the population who don’t support those clubs.

Seems unlikely. This decision was almost certainly taken for practical reasons (closing roads, police resources, cutting costs). If it was taken because they thought it was better entertainment then yes I agree it could be a one off as they’ll see it’s much better to have a full weekend of racing. But I doubt it.

Before anything else comes about today (there might not be anything, though Seixas’s performance was amazing), I’d like to remind everyone once again that this should fundamentally be a community where we can discuss our differences of opinion in a relatively civilized, humane manner... ...and not one where some label competitors as “rodents” just because what they say doesn’t fit into certain narratives. Anyone who does this, and without any sense of shame, has no place in this cycling community, in my opinion. You can love or hate me for this, and 25 people might block me again because of my moralizing, but let’s at least try to uphold basic human values, for heaven’s sake.
