@IsThisA3DModel To be fair, AI art has great a potential, mainly for brainstorming or early concept art. If you want any changes It takes seconds and some words. You can later use that art as a reference to create your own thing. Now, Ai slop is a completely different thing

Actually no. It's not trained on stolen data, for a change. It works with properly licensed datasets, which would also mean the artists who contribute stock get some sort of compensation, and their stock isn't used without their consent. This would be a huge game changer for artists who wanted to try AI tools, but never wanted to steal from other artists.

@Tamaramonkey @IsThisA3DModel probably that retopology tool is trained by lot of 3D renders stolen from real artists, but for some reason that doesn't matter anymore.

I haven't seen the retopology tool. What is it? And nuance is fine. This stuff is new to all of us. Artists did want AI art tools. We just didn't want unethical tools that would steal identities and livelihoods, devalue art, and kill art jobs. Open to hearing about new developments.

@IsThisA3DModel @Parallaxperspec my dude, you can use midjourney to give you composition ideas and then doing it "by hand" and you heavily critique genAI tools because "it steals from artists" but being selective for the AI you do like is hypocritical.

Not angry! And we've explained multiple times. Niche tools that technically aid artists in their specific process in favor of the work they're aiming to create, is not the same as tools that do the entire creative process for them and output results that are a blender of other people's work

AI is exposing a lot of artists. Because it reveals how many were surviving on friction, scarcity, and gatekeeping. Real artists were never loyal to the process. Only people with no vision are.
