A great piece of work by the MR team, supported by the LTH continuous improvement team, that has reduced the time from referral to scan by 4 days, for patients that lack capacity to answer their own safety questions.

And again!!! Outpatient imaging center in the US. Wheelchair vs. 3.0T magnet. Purportedly the tech brought the patient's (not MR Conditional) wheelchair into the room after the exam was completed. Thankfully, patient wasn't close the mouth of the bore. #MRI #MRIsafety

Magnet is always on

This is a big thank you to Louise Parkinson, Imaging Directorate Assistant. Louise puts together the radiology newsletter each month, we send her the info and she works her magic to produce a colourful entertaining read. This is what Louise did with MR’s sedation figures.

The MR department have successful achieved a 97% success rate on their radiograph led sedation pathway, keeping patients off the GA sessions.. This equates to 37 months of GA lists saved, and keeping the waiting list down for GA’s from 3 years to 4 weeks.

Within the last week in US. MR tech on-duty, not in the magnet room. MR table was out of the magnet room. Nurse and tech-aide brought patient-on-gurney into magnet room. Patient thrown (patient relatively unharmed). Nurse struck reported fract. femur and pelvis. #MRIsafety #MRI
