FT: A broker for Pete Hegseth, the US defence secretary, attempted to make a big investment in major defence companies in the weeks leading up to the US-Israeli attack on Iran, according to three people familiar with the matter… The investment discussed by Hegseth’s broker did not ultimately go ahead as the fund, which launched in May last year, was not yet available for Morgan Stanley clients to buy.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, on behalf of Donald Trump, expressed regret that the Saudi authorities signed defense agreements with Ukraine without consulting the United States, which had been Saudi Arabia’s main ally. In response, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman noted that the U.S. had failed to fully protect the Kingdom from Iranian strikes, and therefore Saudi Arabia made a decision that could quickly strengthen its defense capabilities. The Crown Prince also stated that his country will continue to be guided by its own national interests when making decisions regarding its defense. This was a slap in the face to Trump from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in response to Trump’s crude and scandalous public statement that “…now let the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia kiss my ass and be polite to me from now on.” Thus, Trump’s reckless and irresponsible remarks have effectively put U.S.–Saudi relations on pause. The Saudi Crown Prince proved to be more diplomatic than the American president and, notably, did not respond to Rubio by saying that Trump should “kiss my ass” and behave politely toward him in the future 😉

Trump is demeaning European allies, urging them to open the Strait of Hormuz, and condemning them for not supporting the US-Israel war of aggression that caused this catastrophe. Trumpism is pro-Israel and anti-Europe, which is the opposite of how the great paleocons felt.

European nations are in the world’s most powerful military alliance that protects the whole transatlantic community —wanting, seeking, promoting, pushing for, desiring anything less than NATO—that is level in stupid never seen by modern man.

Does he not understand that NATO members are under no obligation to aid the US in an unprovoked illegal attack on another country?

🚨 SECRETARY RUBIO: If NATO is just about us defending Europe if they’re attacked, but them denying us basing rights when we need them, then that’s not a very good arrangement. That’s a hard one to stay engaged in and say this is good for the United States.

When the American Secretary of State, Secretary of Defence [War], let alone the President, do not seem to understand what NATO and Article 5 stand for, one cannot expect that from Nina either.

NATO collective defense obligation under Article 5 applies to help US in the event it needs help.

You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!
